"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"
Today's Bible Verse: 1 John 2:16 "For all that is n the world. the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."
Even tough we are all tempted differently according to our individual weakness, temptations follow patterns. The world is characterized by the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. Temptations appeal to these three fundamental areas of life.
The lust of the flesh refers to desires for sinful sensual pleasure. The lust of the eyes refers to covetousness or materialism. The lust of life refers to being proud about one's position in this world.
When Satan caused the fall of man, he appealed to each of these area of weakness. He also appealed to them when he tempted Christ, who defied Satan's temptations by relaying on the authority of the Scripture. We as Christians should also depend on the Scriptures to defeat temptations
Today's Hymn: "Take My Life And Let It Be"
Take my life, and let it be, Lord, to thee
take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise
Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of Thy love
Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee
Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit As we grow and mature as Christians may we use Your Word as our sword to fight off the fiery arrows of Satan as he attacks us with he temptations to do the things of this world. Help us to Not Be Of This World but to keep our eyes focused on you and The Cross and help us to hid Your words in our hearts that we might sin against Thee.
