God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Tuesday 28 February 2012

Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 28 February 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: 1 John 2:22-23 "Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ?  He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son,  Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also."

The term "antichrist" refers to anyone usurping the place of Christ or opposing Christ.  But the title of "the Antichrist" identifies a person who will emerges during the Great Tribulation once the church is ruptured, to lead Satan's strategy here on earth.

The term "antichrist" is used five times in the New Testament and only by John, although the "Antichrist" of the Great Tribulation is identified by many other names and titles in Scripture: "that wicked" (2 Thessalonians 2:8); "the son of perdition" (2 Thessalonians 2:3); "the willful king" (Daniel 11:36).

He is chiefly depicted in the Scriptures as an immensely powerful policial leader.  He apparently heads the revised Roman Empire, but will not be revealed until after the Rapture of the Church (2 Thessalonians 2:3).  In the past overzealous teachers of prophecy have identified several principle world leaders with the Antichrist and they have all been wrong.

Christian should not only be aware of this tendency and avoid it, they should also recognize that the spirit of the antichrist is already at work in this world.  Literally, Satan is the great deceiver and liar.  He is the epitome of a lying deceiver who claims to represent Christianity, but who accords Jesus Christ less than His full due as Savior and co-equal partner with the Father.  These should be sobering words for modern understanding of religion, and Christianity, which deny Christ His Scriptural status by making Him less than fully divine.

Denying the deity of Jesus is the same as denying the Father and the Son.  In John's epistles, denying that Jesus is the Christ includes denying that He came in the flesh.  A person CANNOT worship God while DENYING the full deity and full humanity of Jesus.

Today's Hymn: "My Hope Is Built On Nothing Less"

My hope is build on nothing less, than Jesus blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly trust in Jesus Name
On Christ the solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, as we come into the last days before Your Second Coming, may we as Christians be aware of the sheep in the wolves clothing that try to lure us away from the teachings of Your Word.  May the Holy Spirit open our eyes to what is truly going on around us, and may we place our complete trust in You, as You guide and protect us each and every day.  May we not listen to those who say Christ is coming today or tomorrow or in the weeks to come, because we have been told in Your Word that only the Father knows when You are coming back to receive us unto Yourself.  For we as Christians know, that when You come back again, the WHOLE WORLD will see coming in the clouds, in all Your Power and Glory, and the world will then indeed know that You are Christ, the Son of the Living God.   Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Because God is righteous, the divine sonship of Christians is revealed through righteous living, which includes love of fellow Christians and belief in the deity of Jesus."

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Tuesday 21 February 2012

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 21 February 2012"

Today's Bible Verses: 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 "There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.  There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.  But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.  But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing one individually as He wills."

Gifts are spiritual capacities that God gives to individual Christians, through which He may strengthen His people.  Verses 4-7 contain key key teachings on spiritual gifts. (1) There are different kinds. (2) Each comes from the Holy Spirit. (3) No gift indicates a person has "more of" the Spirit than another, for "the same God works all of them in all men." (4) Each person has a spiritual gift. (5) These are distributed sovereignty by the Spirit. (6) They function within the church for the "common good' of the body.  Though people are gifted differently by God.  God and His work are unified.

The verses of 7-10 and Romans 12:6-8 list spiritual gifts.  Typically New Testament lists begin with the more important and move to the less important.  In view of the purpose of gifts, to benefit the body, it is easy to see why messages of wisdom and knowledge (listed first) are more important than tongues and interpretations of tongues (listed last).

(1) The word of knowledge appears to be the ability to teach doctrine. (2) The word of wisdom refers to practical application of knowledge (Acts 6).  (3) Faith is the capacity to believe in God for extraordinary deeds. (4) Miracles is the ability to preform wonders similar to Moses and the prophets. (5) Prophecy is the telling of a revelation from God, either new revelation or divine explanation of what was revealed in the past. (6) Discerning of spirits is the ability to distinguish the works of God from demonic activity in the church.  (7) Interpretation of tongues is the ability to explain or translate the tongues spoken in the congregation so that the entire group might benefit (Ephesians 2:21; 4:16).

It is likely that these lists of spiritual gifts are representative rather that exhaustive.  Any way in which God enables us to contribute to the spiritual life and growth of other believers requires the exercise of a spiritual gift. To understand your gift, serve others and see how God uses you in their lives.

Today's Hymn: "Stand By Me"

When the storms of life are raging, Stand by me (stand by me), Stand by me (stand by me)
When the storms of life are raging, Stand by me (stand by me)
When the world is tossing me, like a ship on the sea, Thou Who rulest wind and sea
Stand by me (stand by me) Stand by me, (stand by me)

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, we thank you for the Spiritual Gifts that You so graciously bestow upon us as Christians.  May we use these gifts, to spread the Good News of the Free Gift of Salvation, that comes through Jesus Christ because of His death and resurrection from the grave.  May we use the gifts that You have most graciously laid upon us, to always brings glory to You, and to Your Name, which is above every Name.   Amen

God's Words of Widsom from the Bible for Saturday 18 February 2012

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 18 February 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Exodus 33:14 "And He said, "My Presence will go with with you, and I will give you rest."

"Wow"  Isn't it great to be a child of God and to know that His Presence goes with us and that He will give us the rest that we need.  "My Presence" means literally in Hebrew "My Face." This extraordinary promise of God's Presence with us, His people, was ultimately fulfilled in Jesus, God made man.

"Rest" here, in this verse, refers to the land of Canaan, when the conquest would be over and the land could be enjoyed by the Israelites.  Moses even dared to say that the "Presence" of the Lord in the midst of His people was the only acceptable condition for further advance.  Only the Lord's Presence would demonstrate to surrounding nations that Israel's deliverance of the surrounding nations,  was really the work of the true, living and merciful God.

As God made this promise, the people weer about to set off into the wilderness toward the land God has promised.  Foe a year they lived at the foot of Mount Sinai.  There God gave them His law, there God had provided food and water, there He had began to heal the scars of 400 years of slavery in Egypt.

Now it was time to move forward. They would be going into unfamiliar territory.  This path is totally new to them.  Is the Lord taking you to a new, unfamiliar place?

The camp at Mount Sinai felt safe and familiar with predictable routines.  Do You wonder about the Lord providing for you as you leave the safety of the familiar?

The routines of the old camp were familiar and not terribly difficult.  Leaving would involve carrying all there earthly possessions through the desert, the hot, dry, uncomfortable desert.  Is God asking you to move forward into tougher challenges, a lifestyle with more hardships?

Still the pillar of God's Presence moved, and so did the people.  We don't follow a cloud today.  We know God's Presence among us from the Cross and the empty tomb.  In Jesus: (1) We receive rest, rest from the guilt of our sins (2) Rest from the need to worry about our future, for we know who holds the future and (3) Rest from loneliness that threatens to engulf us no matter how many number of friend's that we may have on speed dial.

We need to always remember, that when we stub our toe, God knows.  When we are hurting, God knows.  When a sparrow falls to the ground, God knows.  When we cry in darkness, God knows and feels our tears.  When we come to YAHWEH, in prayer and a humble heart, He is there and uplifts us in strength, His Mercy and His Love.  We as Christians have the BEST FRIEND in the ENTIRE UNIVERSE, who stands before God the Father for us as our ADVOCATE, and that BEST FRIEND and ADVOCATE is JESUS CHRIST, our LORD and SAVIOR.  (PRAISE GOD)

Today's Hymn: "You Raise Me Up" (Josh Groban)

When I down and, oh my soul, so weary; When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then I am still and wait here in the silence, until you come and sit awhile with me.
There is no life-no life without its hunger; Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder, Sometimes I think I glimpse eternity.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains; You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas,
And I am strong, when I am on your shoulders; You raise me up....to be more than I can be.
You raise me up...to be more than I can be.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are Lord that even as you led the Israelites by a pillar of fire then, You still led us today by the guidance of the Holy Spirit within our hearts and our life's.  How thankful we are that you Abba Father raise us up on Your strong shoulders so that we can walk on the stormy seas when the trials and tribulations enter into our life's.  I pray Father for those who are going through financial, spiritual, and physical  issues. I pray that You with your Mercy, Love and Grace will touch them and shower them with Your never ending love and blessings.  We thank You Father for all that You and will continue to do for us Your children.    Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Jesus fulfilled and will continue to fulfill God's promise to David concerning an unending dynasty."

Have a God Filled and Spirit Led Day. Go in Peace and Serve the Lord our God with Gladness. Love God More Today.  Pray for our Brothers and Sister in Christ who are being persecuted for there Faith and Trust in Jesus Christ.  Pray also that God's Peace and Blessings be on the Nation of Israel.  Always remember that when you have a spiritual dilemma in your life and you yell out, "I CAN'T," GOD Whispers to you, "BUT I CAN."

"Trust in the LORD with all you heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your path." Proverbs 3:5

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for 14 February 2012

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 14 February 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Romans 5:19 "For by one man's disobedience, many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous."

"Disobedience" (sins), are specific acts that violate standards established by God and also focuses attention on a corrupt human nature.  Sin lives in the human personality.  It is a distortion of that which God created, a warping of our natural desires, understandings, and wills, so that we want and choose what is wrong.

Made, means "to make," "constitute." As the result of Adam's sin, the human race became sinners.  But by the death of Jesus Christ "many will be made"righteous." That is, believers are actually being constituted or made righteous.  Through the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit, the believer who has been declared righteous by God is continually becoming more righteous.

"Death" is a complex term in the Old and New Testaments.  Here, in this portion of Scripture, it is not so much biological, as a description of our spiritual condition, where we are powerless in the grasp of an inner moral corruption, that alienates us from God and makes final judgment a dread certainty.  Adam's sin, insinuated both biological, and spiritual death to us, making both our present, and our future dark and grim.

Because of the death of Jesus Christ and His resurrection, Jesus now interjects eternal life, the opposite of death, making us alive to God and guaranteeing, a bright and eternal future (Praise God).

Adam introduced death, and sin in our experience, and bringing us under condemnation, and releasing those dark forces, that make our life's short and miserableIn contrast, Christ (the second Adam), created in us a new nature, that is righteous rather than sinful, upheld by grace, rather than weighed down by failure, alive, rather than dead to the bright hope of life lived in the light of God's holiness and love.  My Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ, ALL things truly have BECOME NEW, once your sins are forgiven and the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit lives in and through you.

Today's Hymn: Great Is Thy Faithfulness"

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father, there is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not, Thy compassion's they fail not, As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be
Great is Thy Faithfulness! Great is Thy Faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hast provided, Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord, unto me.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, than you for making us righteous through the shed blood of Your Son Jesus Christ. who died to set us free, and release us from the shackles of the bondage of sin, and eternal death.  We thank you, and Praise You Name, that we now belong to Christ, and our heritage in Him, is righteousness and eternal life.   Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Jesus interjects life, which is the opposite of death, making us alive to God and guaranteeing a bright eternal future."  "Praise God"

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Saturday 11 February 2012

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 11 February 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: James 4:5-10 "Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "the Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously?"  But He gives more Grace.  Therefore He says, God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.  Therefore submit to God.  resist the devil and he will flee from you.  Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.  Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded.  Lament and mourn and weep!  Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom.  Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up."

Envy in verse 5 is God's jealous longing for our love.  God is truly disturbed when we abandon our friendship with Him to make friends with the world, and disturbed for our sake.  But how goes God respond? It is not with punishment, but with "more grace" to lead us back in His arms.  Only our own pride can keep us from responding to His grace, turning our back on the world so that we might experience blessings.

Many believe that verse 5 refers to the positive ministry of the indwelling Holy Spirit, yearning jealously over the believer, the tenor of verses 4 and 5 however is a negative, speaking of man's envy.  The good work of God begins in verse 6 in contrast to verses 4 and 5 as the conjunction indicated.  "But he giveth more grace" is literally "greater grace."  God gives grace that is greater than the world's attraction of verse 4 and the inner lust of verse 5 (Romans 5:20), and so can withstand both.

When we read further into James, we see in verses 7-10, ten sharps commands calling for immediate action.  In essence they tell us how to humble ourselves before God, so that we can experience His grace.  The ten commands are: Submit and resist in verse 7, come near, wash, purify in verse 8, grieve, mourn, wail and change in verse 9, and humble yourselves in verse 10.  Together these verse picture a complete reversal of the attitudes that shape the spiritually immature and unfaithful.

In verse 7 is a very powerful message and advice, "Resist the devil and he will flee from you."  Do not submit to, fear or flee from Satan, but stand against him. (1 Peter 5:8-10).  Satan CANNOT LEAD into sin AGAINST one's WILL.  However powerful Satan is, he, and the demons, tremble at the name of Jesus Christ, and if we set ourselves against Him in the name of Jesus, he is unable to prevail and he WILL FLEE from us.  (Praise God)

In verse 8, "draw near" means that God will not be unmoved; His welcoming response is always near (Deuteronomy 4:7; Lamentations 3:57; Luke 15:20).  In verse 9 "lament and mourn and weep" means that when a believer who has fallen into sin responds to God's call for repentance, he or she should place laughter and joy aside to reflect on the sin with genuine sorrow (2 Corinthians 7:9-10).  In this verse in James "laughter" deems to refer to the loud revelry of pleasure seeking people.  They immerse themselves in a celebration of their sins in an effort to forget God's judgment.  A Christian SHOULD NEVER LAUGH at sin.  However, a Christians SORROW leads to REPENTANCE; REPENTANCE leads to FORGIVENESS; and FORGIVENESS leads to TRUE JOY over one's RECONCILIATION with God (Psalms 32:1; 126:2; Proverbs 15:13.)

We as Christians must live each day with the awareness of our mortality and thus of our TOTAL DEPENDENCE on God for ALL THINGS.

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Thursday 9 February 2012

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 9 February 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: 1 Timothy 2:1 ""Therefore I exhort first of all that all supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made to all men."

"First of all" in this verse indicates the primacy of prayer in church meetings.  In this Paul uses four of the New Testaments seven words for prayer:

(1) Supplication: Which emphasizes personal need
(2) Prayers: Is the general word for prayer.  The term is always directed toward God with
      reverence or worship
(3) Intercession: means "approaching with confidence," suggesting free access to God through
Jesus Christ His Son in prayer in the behalf of others.
(4) Giving of thanks: This is an attitude of gratitude, the act of praising God for what He does
      for us.

Each of the aspects listed above should be included in the prayer life of the Church and the Christian's Quite Time with God.

In the Book "Love to Pray" a couple of Practical Suggestions are made:

Start--begin now--it's never to late to pray for others.  Obey the command of today's Bible Verse.  It's not the great prayers we pray; it's the Great God who hears them (Wow").  Don't give up.  Keep on praying until God answers.  Remember to pray in accordance to God's Will and to ALWAYS thank Him in advance for answered prayer.

Pray with friends of like passion.  Burdens shared in prayer becomes lighter.  Hearing others pray increases your faith.  Prayers multiplied bring about greater effect.  In closing I would like to share these words from Wesley Duewel: "God blesses the world through our prayer.  Prayers enable us to touch God's throne with one hand, and the needy world with the other."

Today's Hymn: "Sweet Hour Of Prayer"

Sweet hour of prayer! Sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care, and bids me at my Father's throne
Makes all my wants and wishes known
In seasons of distress and grief, my soul has often found relief
And oft escaped the tempters snare, by Thy return, sweet hour of prayer

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, help us to realize as we pray, that we pray not only for our needs, but also for the needs of others.  May we praise You for the greatness of Your power and the boldness that we have as Christians to boldly come before You with our prayers and supplications and intercessions for others, because of what Your Son Jesus Christ did for us upon the Cross of Calvary.  Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Christ died for the sins of all, but only those who believe receive the benefits of that sacrifice."

God's Words of Wisdom for Wednesday 1 February 2012

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 1 February 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Romans 10:13 "For whoever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved."

Salvation is the most common Biblical expression used to identify the subjective changes in believers life's, when by faith they have received the benefit of Christ's death and resurrection.  The term implies deliverance, safety, preservation, healing and soundness.

It occurs in Scripture in three phases:

(1) Christians have been saved from the guilt and penalty of sin
(2) Christians are saved from the habit of dominion of sin in their life's
(3) When the Lord returns, the Christian will be saved from all physical results of sin and God's curse on the world

We as Christians today should demonstrate a change in our life's to conform our wonderful and gracious salvation that comes from our Faith, Trust and Belief in Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Today's Hymn: "Our God"

Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord Almighty, Glory and honor and power belong unto our God
Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord Almighty, Glory and honor and power belong unto our God
Holy and righteous and true, We give our praises to you
Merciful Heavenly Father, There is no other like You
Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord Almighty, Glory and honor and power belong unto our God

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, as we come before You, there is indeed no one like You.  We give you all the honor and Glory and worship you as the King of Kings and Lord of lords.  Thank you Lord Jesus for the free gift of Salvation that you give us because of Your Death and Resurrection which we received the second we placed our Faith and Trust in You.   Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Salvation is completely from God."

"For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation." Psalm 149:4
