God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Friday 29 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ".

Today's Bible Verse: Romans 1:16,17  "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes for the Jew first and also for the Greek.  For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it written, "The just shall live by faith."

I love the Book of Romans for in it is the blueprint to Salvation.  It includes the most systematic presentation of theology found anywhere in Scripture.  Romans is the most doctrinal book in the Bible.  Because it provides a systemic outline of the essentials of the Christian Faith, and it useful to the mature believer, as it is to someone who wants a short introduction to the Christian Faith.

We as Christians need to have a unabashed passion for taking the Good News of Christ to the ends of the world because: "It is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes." (Romans 1:16)

The word "SALVATION" means to me "DELIVERANCE" or "PRESERVATION".  To the Christian the idea is RESCUE from the POWER and DOMINION of SIN.  The Christians fervor for sharing the gospel needs to be rooted in its power "TO FREE" or to "RESCUE" people from the tragic consequences of their own sin.

Jesus Christ because of His sacrificial death on the Cross in the place of US as SINNERS is the AUTHOR and PROVIDER of SALVATION.  This SPIRITUAL DELIVERANCE is GRACIOUSLY and LOVINGLY offered by GOD to ALL PEOPLE, but ONLY to those who REPENT and TRUST in JESUS will EXPERIENCE its BLESSING.

What exactly are these blessings?  SALVATION from the Penalty of our sins, SALVATION from the POWER of our sins, and SALVATION from the PRESENCE of our sins.  As a new Christian and getting more and more in His Word during my QUITE TIME with God, I have found three words that we as Christians need to thank God for everyday: (JUSTIFICATION) (2) SANCTIFICATION and (3) GLORIFICATION.

(1) JUSTIFICATION: is the divine act of declaring sinners to be righteous on account of their faith in Jesus.  He paid for our sins completely and finally on the Cross, and through faith in Him their sins can be FORGIVEN.  Regeneration is closely related to Justification and means the Spirit of God indwells a repentant sinner and IMPARTS ETERNAL LIFE to his or her spiritually DEAD SOUL.
(2) SANCTIFICATION: is the process in which God develops the NEW LIFE of the believer and gradually brings it to PERFECTION.
(3) GLORIFICATION: is the ultimate SALVATION of the WHOLE PERSON and this will occur when we stand FACE to FACE with OUR SAVIOR in His COMING KINGDOM.  We then will enjoy COMPLETE FELLOWSHIP with God and SING His PRAISES FOREVER.  "Wow"  I am looking forward to that GLORIOUS DAY.  "Praise God"

I am so AWESTRUCK by the change that has come over me since I took Jesus, by FAITH into my life.  My life has taken a complete 180 degree turn and now I want EVERYONE to know about my FRIEND and my SAVIOR Jesus.  My prayer each day is that of Isaiah 6:8 "Here I am Lord, Send Me".

Is it any wonder that we as Christians are so excited about the Gospel and its POWER to SAVE.  The more we consider that MARVELOUS TRUTH about SALVATION, the more EXCITED we will be and THANKFUL to God and eager to SHARE with OTHERS the HOPE that IS IN IT.

Today's Hymn: "Glorious Day" (verse 1)

One day when Heaven was filled with His praises, One day when sin was as black as could be
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin, Dwelt among men, my example is He
Word became flesh and the light shined among us, His Glory revealed
Living He loved me, Dying He saved me
Buried He carried my sins far away, Rising He justified freely forever
One day He's Coming, Oh Glorious Day, Oh Glorious Day

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit  How we praise You and Thank You, Today and Forever for Your Justification, Your Sanctification and Your Glorification.  Help us as Christians to spread the Gospel of the Good News about Jesus, and how its message reveals God's Gift of RIGHTEOUSNESS and Salvation to all believers.
                                                                                                                      Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: 1 Corinthians 12:4-6  "There are diversities of gifts, but he same Spirit.  There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord.  And there are differences of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all."

Gifts in these passages refers to Spiritual capacities that God gives individual Christians, through which He may strengthen His people.  Diversities, differences, diversities:  The first portion of the "gift formula" expresses diversity.  Same Spirit, same Lord, same God.  The second expresses unity.  Though people are gifted differently by God, God and His work are unified.

These verses contain six key teaching on spiritual gifts: (1) there are different kinds (2) Each comes from the Holy Spirit (3) No gift indicates a person has "more of" than Spirit than for the "same God works all of them in men" (4) Each person has a spiritual gift (5) These are distributed sovereignly by the Spirit (6) They function within the church for the "common good" of the body.

Today's Hymn: "Spirit of the Living God"

Spirit of the Living God, Fall fresh on me
Spirit of the Living God, Fall fresh on me
Melt me, mold me, fill me, use me
Spirit of the Living God, Fall fresh on me

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit  How thankful we are for the gifts that you give us as believers.  Help us Abba Father, to use the gifts that you have most graciously bestowed upon us, to bring Glory and Honor unto Thy Name.
                                                                                                     Amen

God's Words of Wisdom for Wednesday 27 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse:  "Acts 2: 1-4  "When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.  Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.  And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."

Before Jesus ascended into heaven he commanded his disciples not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, "which", He said, "you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."

Before Pentecost the Holy Spirit's work had been: (1) from without ("Spirit came upon"); (2) temporary; and (3) exceptional.  After Pentecost the Spirit's work is: (1) from within (He indwells) (2) permanent and (3) normal, involving all.  Three phenomenas occurred together that made the coming of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost an unmistakable and unique event: (1) The rushing wind, (2) The visible flames resting on each believer present and (3) Speaking in "other tongues."  There is no record of these three being present together at the same time.

The tongues that the the apostles spoke were recognized as the "native languages" of visitors who had come to Jerusalem for the festival.  In the past 10 days we have seen the Arrest, Trial, Crucifixion, Resurrection, Ascension, and today we read about the Holy Spirit's outpouring upon the disciples, and the beginning of the church and the start of the the Great Commission in which the Good News message of Jesus Christ would go out into all the world bringing a lost and sinful world to the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Today's Hymn: "There's Something About That Name"

Jesus, Jesus. Jesus, There's something about that name
Master, Savior, Jesus, Like the fragrance after the rain.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Let all heaven and earth proclaim,
Kings and kingdoms will pass away, But there's something about that name.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus,  Holy Spirit  May your word be a light be a lamp unto my feet and a light upon my path.  Jesus be my guide and hold me to your side and I will love you to the end.
                                                                                                                                              Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "The filling of the Spirit is the controlling influence of the Spirit within the believer."

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Tuesday 26 April 2011

"Greeting Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: Matthew 28:18-20  "And Jesus came and spoke to them saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.  Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

During Holy week we saw the Arrest, Trial, Crucifixion, and Resurrection of Jesus.  He was on earth for about another 40 days and many people saw him to witnesses to the fact that He was indeed resurrected.  As He is getting ready to ascend into heaven, He gathered his disciples and gave them this Great Commission.

The Great Commission brings the Gospel of Matthew to its grand finale.  Christianity is not represented here as the mere reverential devotion of disappointed men who honor their martyred leader.  Here is a far different scene.  The triumphant, LIVING LORD sends forth His ambassadors to proclaim His gospel throughout the world.

The Great Commission is not just an order but a pronouncement of victory by the risen Savior through His disciples.  When Jesus claimed "all authority in heaven and on earth" He meant that there is no one or thing with power to limit His freedom of action.  It is significant that this affirmation is linked with the command that "we" go and make disciples of all nations.  Making disciples involves three steps: (1) Going (2) Baptizing and (3) teaching.  The word name here is singular, although it is the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit together.  This verse is another indication that God is one in three Persons.  "I am with you always", demonstrates that Jesus is the true Immanuel, "God with us".

Today's Hymn: "I Stand In Awe"

You are beautiful beyond description, Too marvelous for words;
Too wonderful for comprehension, Like nothing ever seen or heard.
Who can grasp Your infinite wisdom?  Who can fathom the depth of your love?
You are beautiful beyond description, Majesty enthroned above.
And I stand, I stand in awe of You, I stand, I stand in awe of You
Holy God, to Whom all praise is due, I stand in awe of you.
I stand in awe of You, I stand in awe of You

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit  May we as Christians go out in our work place, our neighborhoods,  and wherever You may send us to tell others about You.  Help us to be the vehicle of Christ's mission, to tell everyone about the Good News of Jesus Christ.
                                                                                                                             Amen

God's Word's of Wisdom from the Bible for Monday 25 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse:  John 20: 28,29  "And Thomas answered and said to Him, My Lord and my God!"  Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed.  Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Thomas in awestruck wonder when he first sees Jesus after His resurrection proclaims, "My Lord and My God".  Thomas now not only believed that Christ was risen from the dead, but he also saw that the Resurrection proved His deity.

The story of Thomas serves as a climax to the theme of John's Gospel. Thomas struggled with unbelief and doubt and insisted on the most unmistakable proofs.  His phrase in verse 25 "I will not believe it, rightly shifts the issue of belief and unbelief from the intellect to the will.  Yet when confronted by Jesus he recognized Him, fell on his knees and believed.

All we can do is present Jesus to others as clearly as possible.  When they recognize Him they will either choose to believe, or choose not to.

Today's Hymn: "At the Cross"

Alas! and did my Savior bleed, and did my Sovereign die?
Would He devote that sacred head, for sinners such as I
At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light
And the burden of my heart rolled away
It was there by faith I received my sight
And now I am happy all the day

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit  Through faith , we have placed our trust, and everything that is us, in you.  As we live our lives for you, may we present you Lord Jesus, as clearly as possible to those around us, so that they will want we have which is You.
                                                                                                                                        Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Jesus is the Son of God and anyone who believes this, can obtain eternal life".

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Sunday 24 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Events of Holy Week leading up to the Betrayal, Arrest, Trial, Crucifixion, and Resurrection of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Sunday Day 8

Event: Jesus Is Raised From the Dead
Biblical Reference: Luke 24: 1-9

Happy Resurrection Day!!!  Today we Celebrate the the Glorious Commemoration of the GREATEST EVENT in ALL of HISTORY.  Even the magnificent event of the Creation pales in comparsion.  Indeed it would be better never to be, then come to our end on earth without a RISEN, GLORIFIED REDEEMER.

The Resurrection of Christ included five accomplishments:

(1) The physical renewing of His Life
(2) The reunion of his body and spirit.
(3) The subjugation of death under Him
(4) The attainment of His new position
(5) His receiving of a transfigured body

Because of HIS RESURRECTION, the Christians receives both Eternal Life (John11:25) and SPIRITUAL POWER (Ephesians 1:19,20).  Christ's RESURRECTION also provides for the FUTURE RESURRECTION of the BELIEVER (1 Corinthians 15:20 and is the KEY to VICTORY in the CHRISTIAN'S LIFE because of OUR UNION with CHRIST (Ephesians 2:6).

Today's Hymn: "Christ Arose"

Low in the grave He lay, Jesus my Savior,
Waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord
(Chorus)
Up from the grave he arose, with a mighty triumph o'er His foes,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever with His saints to reign
He Arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Vainly they watch His bed, Jesus my Savior,
Vainly they seal the dead, Jesus My Lord
(Chorus)

Death cannot keep it's prey, Jesus my Savior
He torn the bars away, Jesus my Lord
(Chorus)

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit  Today we are thankful for the Resurrection of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Today marks Jesus' victory over Death and Sin and the defeat of Satan was fulfilled.  Thank You Lord Jesus for the Supreme Sacrifice that You made for us because of Your Great Love For us.
                                                                                                                     Amen

Today's Biblical Truth:  "Why do you seek the LIVING among the DEAD?  He is NOT HERE, but IS RISEN"

God's Word's of Wisdom for Saturday 23 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Events of Holy Week leading up to the Arrest, Trial, Crucifixion, and Resurrection of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Saturday Day 7

Event: This is the second day of Jesus being in the grave.  Nothing is mentioned as to what the disciples did after Jesus was buried.  I would think that they were in hiding after they scattered when Jesus was arrested.  They would have met in secret so to avoid persecution.  I wonder when they did meet if they remembered Jesus telling them that He would arise in three days.  Tomorrow we will find out the answer to that question.

I would like to cover the trials of Jesus briefly:

Before Jewish Religious Authorities:

Preliminary Hearing Before Annas (John 18:12-24) "Although the Romans had deposed Annas. in the eyes of the Jews he still functioned as the high priest because the office was for life.  Annas questioned Jesus, but Jesus demanded a legal hearing.

Hearing Before Caiaphas (Matthew 26:57-67; Mark 14:53-65)  "Caiaphas was the high priest appointed by the Romans.  Two false witnesses testified against Jesus and Caiaphas asked Jesus if He was the Messiah.  Jesus answered yes, and Caiaphas concluded that Jesus was guilty of blashemy.

Trial Before the Sanhedrin (Matthew 27:1.2; Mark 15:1; Luke 22:66-71)  " The council of Jewish  religious leaders confirmed Caiaphas's conclusion.  In this trail, Jesus admitted He was the Son of God and declared that he will sit on the right hand of God the Father.

Before the Roman Authorities

First Hearing Before Pilate (John 18:28-37; Matthew 27:11-14; Mark 15:2-5; Luke 23:1-5)  The Jewish religious leaders brought Jesus to Pilate in order to get permission to execute Him.  They accused Him of treason.  Pilate saw saw Jesus' innocence, but briefly questioned Him.  In this interview, Jesus revealed to Pilate that His kingdom was not of this world.

A Hearing Before Herod (Luke 23:6-12) Pilate send Jesus to Herod because Jesus was from Galilee, the region ruled by Herod.  Jesus remained silent before Herod.

Final Hearing Before Pilate (John 18:38-19:16; Matthew 27:15-26; Mark 15:6-15; Luke 23:13-25) Pilate did not want to condemn and innocent man, but he was afraid of another Jewish uprising.  Therefore, he finally gave in to the cries of the crowd: "Crucify Him."

Today's Hymn: "At Calvary"

Years I spent in vanity and pride,
Caring not my Lord was crucified,
Knowing not it was for me He died on Calvary
Mercy there was great, and grace was free
Pardon there was multiplied to me
There my burden soul found liberty at Calvary.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit  When we look into Your Holiness and when we gaze into Your Loveliness we as your children are surrounded by the light of Your Love and Grace.  I am strong in Your strength O Lord and I will trust in You.
                                                                                                            Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "When we think about divine judgment, we should offer thanks to Christ for saving us from that horrible fate by dying for us"

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Thursday 21 April 2011

"Greeting Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Events of Holy Week Leading up to the arrest, trail, crucifixion, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Thursday Day 5

Event: Jesus Eats the Passover Meal and Institutes the Memorial Supper
Biblical Reference: John 13:1-30  "In verse one we see the love of Jesus for His disciples which was love without limits.  Jesus gave everything and kept on going.  We see now that Jesus took the role of the servant and washed the feet of His disciples which made them uncomfortable to have the Lord wash there feet.  Peter being the outspoken disciple that he was told Jesus that He wasn't going to led Him wash his feet but when Jesus said, "If I do not wash you, you have no part of Me", Peter then tells the Lord, "to wash not only his feet, but also his hands and head."   The washing represents the cleansing of the whole person by the inner transformation faith in Jesus accomplishes.  Jesus here makes the implication of His act absolutely clear.  He is both Teacher and Lord.  Yet He humbled Himself to give us an example of the attitude we need to adopt toward others.    We now see that that Judas had already made his bargain with the religious leaders to betray Jesus.  Jesus statement let Judas know that He knew what he had planned and gave him a second chance to repent.  Satan can only tighten his grip on those who make a decision to reject Jesus.
.
Biblical Reference: Mark 14:22-26  "In these verses Judas had already left the room and now Jesus institutes the Lord's Supper. The broken bread represented His body which would be broken for a sinful world.  The cup represented Jesus' blood that would be shed for our sins.  After partaking of the meal Jesus and His disciples head to the Mount of Olives.

Event:  Jesus Prayer In Gethsemane
Biblical Reference: John 17  "In Chapter 17 of John we read about the intimate prayer of Jesus.  In this High Priest Prayer, our Lord prays for Himself (verses 1-5), for His disciples (verses 6-19), and then He prays for all believers (verses 20-26).

Today's Hymn: "Christ Liveth In Me"

Once far from God and dead in Sin, No light my heart could see;
But in God's word the light I found, Now Christ liveth in me
Christ liveth in me, Christ liveth in me
Oh! what salvation is this, That Christ liveth in me.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit,  Thank you for giving us life and protecting us from harm.  You are worthy of all our praise!   Keep us always close to you and may the light of Jesus within us shine through that others will see His Love and Mercy in us and they will want what we have in You.
                                                                                          Amen

God's Works of Wisdom for Wednesday 20 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Events of Holy Week Leading up to the arrest, trail, crucifixion, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Wednesday Day 4

Event: Mary Anoints Jesus at Bethany
Biblical Reference: John 12:1-8  "Mary in these verses not only anointed Jesus feet with costly oil with her hair she also anointed His head (Matthew 26:7 and Mark 14:3).  The custom at that time was to anoint the heads of guests.  Anointing Jesus' head was an act of honor; anointing His feet was a display of devotion.

Event: Judas Bargains with the Jewish Leaders to Betray Jesus
Biblical Reference: Luke 22:3-6  "The journey to the Cross was not just a matter of human effort or Judas's plots.  Cosmic forces were at work in the opposition to Jesus.  Satan who was the adversary to Jesus when He was here on the earth is still the adversary to those who call upon the name of Jesus for forgiveness.  Judas plot to betray Jesus was fortunate from the point of view of the Jewish religious leaders.  They could arrest Jesus secretly and later claim that the driving force to stop Him came from within His own group of disciples.

Today's Hymn: "Have Thine Own Way Lord" (Verse 1)

Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Thou are the Potter, I am the clay
Mold me and make me after Thy will,
While I am waiting, yielded and still.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus and Holy Spirit,  How marvelous it is a Christians to have you within our life's.  Holy Spirit we pray that you will mold us after Thy will so that we will be more like Jesus.  Help us to wait upon You.  Help us to yield everything within us to You.  Help us to be still so that we can can hear your gentle voice speak to our hearts and minds.
                                                                                                                               Amen

God's Words of wisdom from the Bible for Tuesday 19 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

"Events of Holy Week"

Tuesday Day 3

Event: The Sanhedrin challenges Jesus' authority
Biblical Reference: Luke 20:1-8 "A person who truly exercises authority granted by God will not fear mere human beings, nor avoid taking a stand on controversial issues.  The religious leaders claimed to have authority, but their actions showed the hollowness of that claim.  What a difference between the hesitance of the "leaders" and the bold affirmations of our Lord.

Event: Jesus foretells the destruction of Jerusalem and His return
Biblical Reference: Matthew 24;25   In these two Chapters in the Gospel of Matthew Jesus talks about: (1) Jesus Predicts the Destruction of the Temple (2) The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age (3) The Great Tribulation (4) The Coming of the Son of Man (5) The parable of the Fig Tree (6) No One Knows the Day or Hour of His Return (7) The Faithful Servant and the Evil Servant. (8) The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins (9) The Parable of the Talents (10) The Son of Man Will Judge the Nations.

Today's Hymn: "You Are My Dwelling Place"

You are my dwelling place, My tower of strength and Your throne of grace I humbly bow
My affections I pour out, My eyes release their tears as I behold the beauty of You, Lord.
How I long to see your face, Yes, I long to see Your face
You are my dwelling place, with You my heart will stay.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, and Holy Spirit  How we are thankful that You reign and that you are the Almighty God.  Because of Your death upon the cross of Calvary, and because of that Easter Sunday so many years ago when you arose from the dead, we as Christians are able to stand in the power of Jesus and are guided by the Holy Spirit.
                                                                                                          Amen

God's Words of Wisdom for Monday 18 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Yesterday, marked the beginning of the Events of Holy Week.  I was out of town and had no PC to write yesterday so I am going to do Sunday and Monday today.

The Gospel writers devoted much of there material to the events leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus.  The final work of His earthly ministry began with the triumphal entry into Jerusalem and the "Hosannas" from the crowd that changed to "Crucify Him"  before the week was over.

Jesus spent most of the week teaching in the temple area during the day.  His evenings were spent in the house of Mary, Martha and Lazarus in Bethany.  As we will see in the this weeks writings that there were significant events during this week that included the plot of the Sanhedrin, Jesus' betrayal and arrest, the trials of Jesus, His journey to Golgotha down the streets of Jerusalem, His death and His glorious resurrection.

Day 1 Sunday

Today's event: The triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem
Today's Biblical Reference: Mark 11: 1-11
Today's Key Verse: Mark 11: 2,3 "and He said to them, "Go into the village opposite you and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat, Loose it and bring it.  And if anyone says to you, 'Why are you doing this?' say, 'The Lord has need of it, and immediately he will send it here."

Day 2 Monday

Today's Event: Jesus Cleanses the temple in Jerusalem
Today's Biblical Reference: Mark 11: 15-19
Today's Key Verse: 11:17 "Then He taught them saying to them, "Is it not written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations?'  But you have made it into a "den of thieves."

Today's Hymn: "Jesus, Your Name"

Jesus, Your name is power, Jesus ,Your name is might
Jesus,  Your name will break every stronghold, Jesus Your name is life
Jesus, Your name is healing, Jesus, Your name gives sight
Jesus, Your name will free every captive, Jesus, Your name is life
Jesus, Your name is holy, Jesus, Your name brings light
Jesus, Your name, above every name, Jesus Your name is life
Jesus, Your name is life

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus and Holy Spirit,  As we start this week remembering and reading from your word about the events that lead up to the death and resurrection of Your Son Jesus Christ we as Christians are not only mindful of his Death which cleansed us of our sins when we are washed with His blood, but also to the fact that Jesus arose from the dead conquering death and sin, and giving us that victory as well.

Today's Biblical Truth:  "Christ's life was given for others, in place of there lives"

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Friday 11 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: 1 Corinthians 1:18,19 : "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.  For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."

The word "fool" or "foolish" indicates those who look at reality with distorted perspective, typically because they fail to take God into account.

The message of the cross is the gospel, the Good News about Christ's death and resurrection for our sins.  The gospel penetrates to the core of self centeredness.  For those who exalt self, the message sounds absurd.  But for those who bow humbly in faith, it becomes the power that is able to take us from death and give us eternal life.

We as Christians must hold to the central reality of our faith, Christ, for He is the source of all our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

Today's Hymn: "Christ Liveth In Me" (Verse 2)

As rays of of light from yonder sun, the flowers of earth set free
So life and light and love come forth, from Christ living in me
Oh! What a salvation this, that Christ liveth in me

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus ad Holy Spirit, thank you that because of the Cross, and because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we as Believers have been released from the death penalty that we deserve, and have been given Eternal Life through You.
                                                                                                                        Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Thursday 14 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: 2 Peter 3:9  "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."

The delay of God's Judgment is not due to slackness, but to God's Sovereign desire that everyone turn to Him and turn away from sinful lives.

How good it is to have an answer for those who ridicule the idea of a coming Judgment Day.  "God's just waiting for you to be saved!"  His delay is more evidence of His Unending Love.

Today's Hymn: "Great Is Thy Faithfulness"

Great is Thy Faithfulness, O God my Father; There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassion's, they fail not; As thou hast been, Thou forever will be.
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see.  All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Great is Thy faithfulness Lord to those who believe in You.  How great it is to call upon and serve a Loving, Caring, and Merciful God.   Thank you Lord Jesus for taking my sins upon You when You died upon the Cross of Calvary and then when we accepted you You sent the Holy Spirit to us to help us live godly life's for You.  May we bring glory and honor always to Your name.

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Wednesday 13 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: John 14: 5,6  "Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?"  Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me."

The thought of Jesus leaving threw Thomas into despair.  If Jesus left, how would he ever learn the way to Him?  Christ's answer was that He is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE.

Through His death and resurrection, Jesus is the Way to the Father.  He is also the truth and the live.  As truth He is a revelation of God.  He is the communication of God to us.  In a personal relationship with Jesus we discovery the way to God, the truth that puts our existence in perspective, and an eternal life that is to be lived here and know.

Today's Hymn: "You Are The Strength Of My Life"

I will glory in my weakness, I will boast in Your might;
For I have found in my weakness, That You will be the strength of my life
You are the strength of my life, You are my song
You are the strength of my life, When I am weak You are strong
You are the strength of my life, You are my song
When I'm weak You're my strength and my song

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, You are indeed the strength of my life and when I am weak You make me strong and you are my the song of my life.  Lord Jesus, how thankful we are that you are the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE.
                                                                                                             Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Tuesday 12 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: 1 Timothy 6:6,7  "Now godliness with contentment is great gain.  For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain that we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content."

Godliness in this verse 6 suggest a reverent faith which expresses its awe of God in glad obedience to Him.

While we will leave everything material behind us,  we take along a far greater treasure.  We take a personality that has begun to experience God's transforming work, a mind mote attuned to heaven, a heart that beats closer to God own, a will that has made a choice that Glorifies God.

What we take with us as we leave this world is a treasure house.  What we leave behind is nothing.

Today's Hymn: "Create In Me"

Create in me a clean heart, Oh God, that I might serve You;
Create in me a clean heart, Oh God, that I might be renewed
So fill me and heal me, and bring me back to You.
Create in me a clean heart, Oh God, that I might serve You

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, and Holy Spirit, Create within me a loving and caring heart that I might be open to those around me and reach out to them in Your Name.  Create within me a heart that is open to you as I serve You.  Help me to lay up my treasures not here upon this earth but lay them up in Heaven.
                                                                                                        Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Monday 11 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: Romans 3:23-26  "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by his blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God has passed over the sins that were previously committed to demonstrate  at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus".

In verse 23 we are told that because of sin, we cannot live up to what God created us to be, so we fall short of His glory.  We cannot save ourselves, because as sinners, we can never meet God's requirements.  Our only hope, is faith in Jesus Christ.

Verse 24 tells us that those who believe are justified freely with out cost by God's grace.  By paying the penalty for our sins on the cross, Jesus can free us from our sins and give us righteousness, so that we can approach God's throne with praise.

Verses 25 and 26 tell us that by His death, Christ satisfied the justice of God on the cross of Calvary.  God is righteous and at the same time the only one who can declare sinners righteous.  Because of Christ's death and His shed blood, God does not compromise His Holiness when He forgives a sinner.

Today's Hymn: "Redeemed How I love to Proclaim It" (verse 4)

I know there's a crown that is waiting,  In yonder bright mansion for me
And soon, with the spirits made perfect, At home with the Lord I shall be
Redeemed, Redeemed
Redeemed by the blood of the lamb
Redeemed, redeemed
His child and forever I am.

Heavenly Father,  How we thank you that you have made us righteous through the blood of Your son Jesus Christ.  How thankful we as Believers can come before you through Your Son.  May we always remember that the only thing that can wash away our sins, is the blood of Jesus.

                                                                                                                     Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Because of God's unending love and because of the shed blood of Jesus Christ, we as Believers have been restored to a proper relationship with Him"

Have God Filled and Spirit Led Day.  Go in Peace ad Serve the Lord with Gladness.  Love God More Today and always remember that when you have a spiritual dilemma in your life and you yell out, "I CAN'T",  God whispers to you, "BUT I CAN".

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Sunday 10 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: Romans 8:28-29  "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.  For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren."

God had his purpose in mind when He saved us.  No one and no thing can keep Him from His goal, or us from our destiny in Jesus.

We are not told that everything that happens to us is good in the sense of pleasure.  God does not promise pleasure, but He does promise that all things will contribute to our good in the sense of being for our benefit.  God will use our every experience to make us more like Him.

Those who love God are those who are the called by God.  Our love is the response to the work of the Holy Spirit within us.  We as Christians are called according to His purpose.  God does EVERYTHING, including REDEMPTION, in order to accomplish His overall plan.

Today's Hymn: "Stand By Me" (verse 3)

In the midst of faults and failures, Stand by me (stand by me )
In the midst of faults and failures, Stand by me (stand by me)
When I do the best I can, And my friends misunderstand,
Thou knowest all about me, Stand by me (stand by me)

Heavenly Father, How thankful that we are called according Your purpose.  Thank you for the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit that teaches us, guides us and fills us with the power from on high.  Stand by us Lord in all that we do that we might bring Glory and Honor to You.
                                                                                                                                          Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Saturday 9 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: Mark 10:14-16  "But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for such is the kingdom of God.  Assuredly, I say to you, whosoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.  And He took them in His his arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.

"Wow"  Since I am a child of God, I am looking forward to his taking me up in his arms, laying his hands upon me, gazing into His eyes, hearing Him talk and listening to His laughter, and then having Him say to me,"Well done thou good and faithful servant to the kingdom that I have prepared for you."

When the disciples of Jesus rebuked parents who tried to bring there children to Him, He was "deeply displeased".  We are foolish to ignore the little ones who are very important to the Lord.

Children show sincerity, eagerness, a trusting attitude and total dependence on their parents.  With that child-likeness, we as Christian's need to have that same attitude in serving and being dependent on our Heavenly Father.

Today's Hymn: "Child Of The King"

My Father is rich in houses and lands,
He holdeth the wealth of the world in His hands!
Of rubies and diamonds, of silver and gold,
His coffers are full He has riches untold
I'm a child of the King, A Child of the King, With Jesus as my

Savior, I'm a child of the King

Heavenly Father, My we come before you as children with sincerity, eagerness, a trusting attitude and total dependence on you for everything that we do as Christians in serving You our Heavenly Father.
                                                                                                             Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Friday 8 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: James 4:5,6  "Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, 'The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously"?  But He gives more grace.  Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble."

Envy here is God's jealous longing for our love.  Our Heavenly Father is truly disturbed when we abandon friendship with Him to make friends with the world and He is disturbed for our sake.  How does God respond to this?  Not with punishment, but "more grace" to lead us back into His arms.  Only our own pride can keep us from responding  to His grace, turning our back on the world, and experiencing blessings.

Today's Hymn: "Redeemed How I Love To Proclaim It"

Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!  Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb
Redeemed through His infinite mercy, His child and forever I am
Redeemed, redeemed  Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb
Redeemed, redeemed His child and forever I am

Heavenly Father,  Thank you for Your grace that saves us from our sins and for the cleansing power of the blood of Your Son Jesus Christ which cleanses us from all unrighteousness.

Today's Biblical Truth:  "In prayer, God does not bow to our will; instead we submit to His good will for our lives.

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Thursday 7 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: Romans 5:19  "For as by one man's disobedience, many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous."

"Disobedience"are specific acts that violate standards established by God and also focuses attention on a corrupt human nature.  Sin lives in the the human personality.  It is a distortion of that which God created, a warping of our natural desires, understandings, and wills, so that we want and choose what is wrong.

The word "made" in this verse means "to make", "constitute".  As the result of Adam's sin, we as the human race became sinners.    It was by the death of Jesus Christ that we are made righteous.  That means, believers are actually being constituted or made righteous.  Though the work of the Holy Spirit, the believer who has been declared righteous by God is continually becoming more righteous.

Today's Hymn: "Great Is Thy Faithfulness"

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassion's, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Heavenly Father, Thank You for making us righteous because of the shed blood of Your Son Jesus Christ, who died to set us free, and release us from the shackles of the bondage to sin, and eternal death.  We Thank You, and praise Your name, that we now belong to Christ, and our heritage in Him, is righteous and eternal life.
                                                                                              Amen

God's Words of Wisdom for Wednesday 6 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Todays' Bible Verse: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?  For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God's."

Through our union with Christ, our bodies have become His, temples in which the Holy Spirit dwells.  Whatever we do in the body must honor Christ, for He is present in us because he is now us.

The words "bought at a price" (verse 20), alludes to someone purchasing a slave at a slave auction.  With His death and His shed blood, Jesus Christ paid the cost to redeem us from our slavery to sin.  "Praise God"

Today's Hymn: "Jesus Paid It All"

I hear the Savior say, "Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray, Find in Me thine all in all.'
Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.
For nothing good have I, Whereby Thy grace to claim,
I'll wash my garments white, In the blood of Calv'ry's Lamb
Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.

Heavenly Father,  How we thank you for Your Son Jesus Christ who took it upon Himself to go to Calvary and die and shed His blood to cleanse us of our crimson stain that He now makes as white as snow when we invite Him into our life's.  Lord our strength indeed is small but because of Jesus we can find in Him our all in all.
                                                                                                    Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Now because of the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit living within the believer, cleansing power now flows out of our lives and affects all who come in contact with us"

God's Words of Wisdom from The Bible for Tuesday 5 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: Colossians 3:15-17  "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.  And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."

"Wow"  What a message this is.  I love the worship service at my church.  To be able to to stand,  rejoice and sing praises to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords with other God fearing Christians, recharges my spiritual well being.

In today's Bible Verses, a beautiful calm and harmony emerge, as Christians focus on living as God's new people.   As Christians assemble, and worship the True and Living God, and His Son Jesus Christ, together true unity and peace will result.

Unified and confident, God's people will focus on what is really important in the Christian Life.  As Christians we need to always focus doing whatever we say and do in the Name of Jesus and giving God thanks through Him.  As Christians we are under the microscope at all times as those around us watch us and how we react to life's situations.   The church as the body of Christ is a continuing incarnation of the Lord, to whom we are all intimately linked and as a Christain we have the prayer support and comfort of other Christians when we have a crisis in our life's.

Today's Hymn: "Praise Him Praise Him"

Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus our blessed Redeemer!
Sing, O Earth, His wonderful love proclaim!
Hail Him! Hail Him! highest archangel's in glory
Strength and honor give to His Holy Name!
Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard His children
In His arms He carries them all day long
Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him!  Tell of His excellent greatness
Praise Him! Praise Him! Ever in joyful song!

Heavenly Father, How worthy You are to receive all our praise and glory.  It is so wonderful to gather in Your House, and to sing praises to You our God and King.  May we keep Your song of praise upon our hearts, all through the week in everything that we say and do, that we might bring Glory and Honor to Your Name, which is above Every Name.
                                                                                                                     Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Continually commit everything you do or say to Jesus, and then, thank God for all His good gifts"

Daily Bible Verse for Monday 4 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: Hosea 10:12
Today's Scripture Reading: Hosea 10:1-15
Today's Key Verse: "Hosea 10:12

"Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you."

As plowing and planting are necessary steps for growing a crop, which will sprout when the rain falls, so it is with a Christian.  The Holy Spirit plows us (convicts us), and plants the seeds and the Word of God is the rain that waters the seeds in our hearts that we might grow and mature into His likeness and His Will.

God calls all of His people to serve Him.  If we are committed to Him, if we commit ourselves to the tasks to which He calls us, we will fulfill our potential, and will bear the fruit of His love, as we reach out to bear fruit to others.

Today's Hymn: "A New Name In Glory"

I was once a sinner, but I came, Pardon to receive from my Lord:
This was freely given, and I found, That He always kept His word
There's a new name written down in glory, And it's mine, O yes, it's mine
And the white robed angels sing the story, "A sinner has come home"
For there's a new name written down in glory, And it's mine, O yes it's mine!
With all my sins forgiven I am homeward bound for Heaven, Never more to roam.

Heavenly Father, Thank you for the Holy Spirit, which plants the seeds in our hearts, and thank you for Your Holy Word, which provides the rain to water the seeds in our seeds that we might grow in Your Love and Mercy.  As the seed grows in our hearts, may we grow and bear fruit for You, as we become the vines of reaching out to others for You.
                                                                                                              Amen

Daily Bible Verse for Sunday 3 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: Titus: 2:11-14 "For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own people, zealous for good works."

Twice in verse 11, Paul speaks of Christ's appearance in history.  The first time, Christ came in "GRACE" to save us from our sins, and the second time, He will come to REIGN.

The Grace of God is to produce two things in the life's of the believer: (1) We are to resist the evil temptations of this world and live godly lives (2) We are to look for the return of Christ.  One of the strongest statements of the deity of Christ in the New Testament was made by Paul in Verse 13, when he says, "Great God and savior Jesus Christ".

Redeem means to "Purchase".  Redemption is the act of Christ's purchasing the believer by His blood, so that we might be freed from our past captivity to sin.  We are reminded here, that God's purpose in redeeming us, is not only to save us from hell, but He also wants to free us from sin, so that we can produce good works that will glorify Him.

Today's Hymn: "Redeemed How I Love To Proclaim It"

Redeemed, and so happy in Jesus, No language my rapture can tell
I know that the light of His presence, with me doth continually dwell
Redeemed, Redeemed, Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb
Redeemed, Redeemed, His child and forever I am

Heavenly Father, How marvelous it is to be redeemed because of the shed blood of Your Son Jesus Christ.  May be live our lives in holiness, marked by a dedication of doing what is good and righteous for You.
                                                                                                             Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Christ died to redeem us from sinful ways.  No wonder we are to reject ungodliness"

Daily Bible Verse for Saturday 2 April 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: Revelation 22:18-21

"For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: IF anyone ADDS to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone TAKES AWAY from the words of this book of this prophesy, God will take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things that are written in this book.  He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming quickly." Amen.  Even so, come Lord Jesus!  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.  Amen"

In these verses, we are told that the Book of Revelation was intended to be heard and obeyed and not to be tampered with.  Anyone who either ADDS TO or TAKES AWAY from the writings of God's word will receive from God the strictest punishment which is a punishment with eternal consequences.

The fact that Jesus will be coming quickly within the plan of His divine timetable is a continued theme throughout the Book of Revelation.  John then proclaims the hope of all believers in Christ when he says, "Even so, come, Lord Jesus."

The closing words of the Book of Revelation, "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all", implies that not merely the message of God's judgment upon non believers can be found in this book, also the message of the free gift of eternal life, through Jesus Christ can be found here as well.

Today's Hymn: "Grace Greater Than All Our Sin"

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt
Yonder on Calvary's mount out poured
There where the blood of the Lamb was slain
Grace, grace, God's grace
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within
Grace, grace, God's grace
Grace that is greater than all our sins

Today's Biblical Truth: "Learning to forgive, frees us to move forward, in spite of our losses"
