Daily Bible Verse and Hymn for 1 April 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: Ephesians 2:8-10 "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not not of yourself; it is the gift of God, not works, least anyone should boost.  For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."

What are good works?  Any activity that is beneficial to God,  your neighbors, your friends, your family, or co-workers that reflects honor and glory to God.

Christians have been saved by grace.  The grace of God is the source of salvation;  Faith is the channel, not the cause.  God alone saves.  Salvation never starts in our efforts.  It is always through the loving kindness of God.

Our salvation has already occurred in the past at the cross.  We cannot do anything to earn God's free gift of our salvation.  Everything that we receive as believers is from a merciful and gracious Father.

Today's Hymn:  "Trust and Obey"

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His word
What a glory He sheds on our way
While we do His good will He abides with us still
And with all who trusty and obey
Trust and obey for there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey

Heavenly Father, Thank you for Your grace that saves us from the death penalty that we deserve, but was taken care of because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, You only begotten Son.

Today's Biblical Truth: "Living in a right relationship with God, keeps the heart soft"

Have a God Filled and Spirit Led Day.  Go in Peace and Serve the Lord with Gladness.  Love God More Today and always remember that when you have a spiritual defeat in your life and you yell out, "I CAN'T",  God whispers to you, "BUT I CAN".

Yours in Christ,
Cindi
