God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for 31 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 31 August 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Deuteronomy 6:4,5 "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!  You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength."

This verses starts with a command for the people to respond properly to God.  We as Christians must listen and obey.  The Lord our God indicated that we have a personal relationship with the living God.  The "Lord is one", means "the Lord alone." There is only one God.

Moses repeatedly stressed to the Israelites to respond to God's love with devotion.  In this context, the word love means "to take one's choice in."  God commanded His people to choose Him with all their hearts, soul's and strength, and in that to deny all other supposed deities.

The Scriptures basic principles are laid out here.  Parents are to love God themselves and take His words to heart.  In verses 6-8 they are then to talk about His words in the living of their daily life, and so make them real to their boys and girls.

In Mark 12:28-30 on the Jewish scribes listening to Jesus speak, asked Him, "Which is the first commandment of all?"  Jesus responded to the question with this verse from Deuteronomy and also added, "And the second, like it is this, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."  Jesus said that there is no greater commandment than these.

Today's Hymn: "At The Cross"

Alas! and did my Savior bled, and did my sovereign die
Would He devote that sacred head, for a sinner such as I
At the Cross, at the Cross where I first saw the light, And the burden of my heart rolled away
It was there by faith, I received my sight, And now I am happy all the day.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, as we have read in today's Scripture reading, may we as Christians apply the words spoken by Moses in the Old Testament and then spoken by Jesus in the New Testament in our daily lives of loving you Lord, with all our hearts, with all our souls, and with all our strength.  How happy we are Lord that by faith we have placed our faith and trust in You that we may might be happy all the day.
                                                                                                                                    Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for 30 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 30 August 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Psalm 103:3-5 "Who forgives all of your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that you life is renewed like the eagle's."

We as godly people suffer illness just like the ungodly despite repeated prayer for healing.  Even though God is not bound to heal every disease, every healing does come from Him.

In addition to being a healer, God provides food as well as other blessings.  His mercy enables us a Christians to rise up like eagles.  In this Psalm, David, praises God for the many mercies that unveil the compassion of Him, and lead all people everywhere to praise God.

Forgiveness  is the prime expression of God's compassion for a needy and sinful human race.  These verses explain the nature of the forgiveness we enjoy as Christians and believers as well as any passage in the Old or New Testaments.

Today's Hymn: "You'll Never Walk Alone"

When you walk through the storm, Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark, at the end of the storm
At the end of the storm, there's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of the lark
Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain
Though yours dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone, you'll never walk alone
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone, you'll never walk alone

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how comforting it is to know that when we have storms, illnesses, and problems in this life here on this our temporary home, that You are always there for us and that we never have to walk alone.  How comforting it is know that in the midst of our tribulations and storms that You are there to pick us us and carry us through the storms of life because of Your great love for us.  Thank you for Your continued blessings, love and care.
                                                                                                                                                      Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for 29 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 29 August 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Isaiah 40:13,14 "Who has directed the Spirit of the Lord, or as His counselor has taught Him?  With whom did He take counsel, and who instructed Him and taught Him in the path of justice?  Who taught Him knowledge, and showed Him the way of understanding?"

God is the only being in the universe that posses independence from the creation.  The only limits to God's freedom are in His own nature and attributes.  God is unlimited in His existence.  Because His existence relates to His nature rather than His will, God will exist forever.

In Exodus 3:13-15 when God revealed His name to Moses at the burning bush, He called Himself "I AM".  This name revealed God's self existence, the fact that He always existed and always will.  Neither anyone nor any outside force will effect God's relationship with us.  He will deal with us according to His nature because He is free from any outside influence.

Today's Hymn: "Victory in Jesus" (verse 2)

I heard about His healing, of His cleansing power revealing
How He the lame to walk again, and caused the blind to see;
And then I cried, "Dear Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit,"
And somehow Jesus came through and brought me the victory
O victory in Jesus, My Savior forever
He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood
He loved me, 'ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him
He plunged me to victory, beneath the cleansing flood

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are Abba Father that You are the great "I AM".  How thankful we are that You are the same Yesterday, Today and Forever.  How thankful we are that You always are faithful to the promises that You make and that You never change Your mind.  Thank you Jesus for bringing us the victory because of the Cross of Calvary and your resurrection from the grave where You conquered death and sin forever.
                                                                                                                                                    Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for 26 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 26 August 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: John 15:4,5 "I have glorified you on the earth.  I have finished the work which You have given me to do.  And now, O Father, glorify Me now together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was."

In verse 4 Jesus says. "I have glorified You."  Jesus here makes known the Father by completing the work that God gave Him to do.  Jesus in verse 5 looked to the Father to restore Him to the glory He had in heaven before he left.  This is another indication of Christ's preexistence and deity.

The celestial glory that Jesus had from the beginning was temporarily hidden, during His earthly life.  At the ascension of Christ, Jesus was both glorified and transfigured.  We will note the contrast between the post-resurrection appearances of Christ, with the post ascension.

In the post resurrection appearances of Christ, He often concealed His glory to the point that He was not recognized, such as the disciples at Emmaus (Luke 24:16,31), or by Mary Magdalene (John 20:14) who though that He was a gardener.

The post-ascension involved His radiant appearance.  The difference between John's meeting with Christ in John 21 and in Revelation 1 was that of seeing The Resurrected body (not glorified) and of later seeing the transformed and celestial body (glorified).  Someday all Christians will be glorified together with Christ.

Today's Hymn: "God Will Make A Way"

God will make a way, when there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see, He will make a way for me
He will be my guide, hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how we as Christians look forward to the day when we like Christ will have out transformed bodies and share with Christ in all His glory.  How we look forward to spending all eternity with Jesus Christ our Lord and savior, where there will be no more sickness, no more pain, no more death, no more tears and NO more SIN.  May we as John in the closing verses of Revelation say, "Come, Lord Jesus, Come."
                                                                                                                                               Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Thursday 25 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Chrisy for 25 August 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: 1 Corinthians 1:18,19 "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God.  For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."

The word "fool" or "foolish" indicates those who look at reality with a distorted perspective, typically because they fail to take God into account.

The message of the cross is the gospel, the Good News about Christ's death and resurrection for our sins.  The gospel penetrates to the core of self centeredness.. For those who exalt self, the message sounds absurd.  But for those who bow humbly in faith, it becomes the power that is able to take us from death and give us eternal life.

We as Christians must hold to the central reality of our faith, Christ, for He is the source of all our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.

Today's Hymn: "Christ Liveth In Me"

As rays of light from yonder sun, the flowers of earth set free
So life and light and love come forth, from Christ living in me
Christ liveth in me, Christ liveth in me
Oh! What salvation this, that Christ liveth in me

Heavenly father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, thank you Jesus, that because of the Cross of Calvary, and because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we as believers have been released from the death penalty, that we deserve, and have been given the promise of eternal life through You.
                                                                                                                                              Amen

God's Words of Wisdom for Wednesday 24 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 24 August 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Romans 1:17: "For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."

From faith to faith means, "faith is the beginning of the salvation process and it is the goal as well."  When a believer first exercises faith in Christ, and accept Him as our Lord and Savior we  are saved from the penalty of sin and declared righteous. (Praise God) As we live by faith, God continues to save us from the power of sin to live righteously.

In Scripture there are six expressions of faith: (1) Doctrinal Faith: which is the content of the Christian belief (2) Saving Faith: is trusting in Jesus and in Him alone for salvation (3) Justifying Faith: is the Christians reliance that God has declared him and her righteous (4) Indwelling Faith: is trusting in God's Word in and through us (5) Daily Faith: is that day to day dependence on God which is part of the sanctification process (6) Gift of Faith: is the special ability of faith, resulting in a vision of what God can do.

Faith is the means by which Christians can obtain that vision, and the power of God to get answers to prayers.

Salvation has past (forgiveness), present (power to live a godly life), and future (resurrection transformation).  Faith in Christ is the key to experience every aspect of salvation from first to last.  We as Christians should remember that it is impossible to please God without faith.

Today's Hymn: "Great is Thy Faithfulness" (verse 1)

Great is Thy Faithfulness, O God my Father, there is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not, Thy compassion's they fail not, as Thou hast been, Thou forever will be
Great is Thy Faithfulness! Great is Thy Faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed Thy hand hast provided, Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord unto me

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, strengthen our faith in You, so that in our daily lives, we might serve You with gladness and bring glory to Your name which is above every name.  How thankful we are that Your promises never change and that You never change Your mind.  Thank You Lord for Your faithfulness unto us.
                                                                                                                       Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Tuesday 23 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 23 August 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Ruth 1:16,17 "But Ruth said: "Entreat me not leave you, or turn back from following you; For wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people still be my people, and your God my God.  Where you die I will die, and there will I be buried.  The Lord do so to me, and more also, If anything but death parts you and me."

"Wow"  What a beautiful, emotionally charged response.  Ruth in these two verses, describes her determination to remain with Naomi.  Her response not only shows loyalty to a friend, but clear insight in God.

Her statement of faith in the Lord God of Israel, is an oath of commitment to the Living God.  She was choosing to cling not only to Naomi, her land and her people, but also to her God.

Ruth became a godly woman who was willing to forsake all that she had ever known, to follow the One True God.  Thus my identifying herself with the covenant people, Ruth qualified herself to claim Israel's God as her own.  What a wonderful and Loving God we serve even today.

Today's Hymn: "Precious Lord Take My Hand"

Precious Lord, take my hand, Lead me on let me stand
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn; Through the storm, through the night,
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand, precious Lord, Led me home

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, thank you for this story about Ruth that you have given us in Your Holy Word.  What a beautiful story of love, loyalty and redemption.  Help us Father in our service for You to be loyal and faithful to You just as Ruth was in our Scripture Reading today.

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Monday 22 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 23 August 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Exodus 3:13,14 "Then Moses said to God. "Indeed when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you," and they say to me, "What is His name?, what shall I say to them?"  And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM."  And He said, "Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, "I AM has sent me to you."

There are three primary names of God: (1) Elohim (God) (2) Jehovah or Yahweh and (3) Adonai (Lord).  Each of these names points out a different aspect of God's nature.  The name Elohim occurs 31 times in Genesis 1, where is expresses His strength and creative power.  The name Yahweh is often used to express God's self existence, particularly in relation to humanity.  Adonai means "master" and emphasizes the authority of God"

The One who spoke to Moses in these verses declared Himself to be the Eternal One.  Only the creator of all things can call Himself he "I AM".  All other creatures are in debt to Him for there existence.  Also here in this passage God declares His relationship with the people of Israel.  Even today, because God reveals Himself in His Names, Christians should understand them to better serve Him.

Today's Hymn: "Since Jesus Came Into My Heart"

What a wonderful change in my life has been wrought, Since Jesus came into my heart
I have light in my soul for which long I have sought, Since Jesus came into my heart
Since Jesus came into my heart, Since Jesus came into my heart
Floods of joy o'er my soul, Like sea billows roll
Since Jesus came into my heart

Abba Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how great it is to be sons and daughters of the great "I AM".  Help us and teach us Holy Spirit the names of our Almighty God so that we, as did the people of Israel, come to know and understand them as God reveals Himself to us.  How thankful we are of the wonderful change that indeed came into our life's since we took Jesus into our lives.
                                                                                                                     Amen

God's words of Wisdom from the Bible for Sunday 21 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 21 August 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Matthew 6:34 "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about it's own things.  Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

Jesus tells us in this verse "Do not worry about tomorrow!"  This is not a suggestion but a command.  God divided time into days and nights, so that we would have manageable portions of life to handle.

His grace is sufficient for us, but its sufficiency is for one day at a time.  When we worry about the future, we heap day upon day of troubles onto our flimsy frame.  We stagger under this heavy load, which He never intended us to carry.

We need to throw off this oppressive burden with one quick thrust of trust.  Anxious thoughts meander about and crisscross in our brains, but trusting God brings us directly into His presences.  As we affirm our faith, shackles of worry fall off instantly.  Enjoy the presence of God continually by trusting in Him at all times.

Today's Hymn: "Grace Greater than Our Sin"

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord, Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt
Yonder on Calvary's Mount out poured, There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled
Grace, grace, God's grace, Grace that will pardon and cleanse within
Grace, grace, God's grace, Grace that is greater than all our sins

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit,How thankful we are that you are in total control that happens in this universe.  May we as we serve you and do Your will not be worried about the future for you control the future but may we take one day at at time and place our faith in trust in You at all times.
                                                                                                                          Amen

God's Words of Wisdom fom the Bible for 19 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 19 August 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Psalm 16:11 "You will show me the path of life (past)'; In Your presence is fullness of joy (present); At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore (future).

Turn out, sometimes you CAN have your cake and eat it too!  God Himself promises that!  We would never have found the path of true faith ourselves as we wandered through life's wilderness.  Jesus searched for us and brought us home to life in His family, His church, here on earth.

Throughout our earthly lives, He will continue to fill us with joy in His Presence.  Regardless of how we feel at any given moment, regardless ow weather we happily eat birthday cake or choke down the dry bread of grief, our Lord's presence buoys our hopes and calms our anxieties.

Our eyelids will one day close in death, but that will not end our pleasure in God's presence.  Instead, we will experience even fuller joys, joys we can't even imagine now.  We'll inherit the 'eternal pleasures' of God's presence--all because of the life, death and resurrection of our Savior.

Today's Hymn: "You Are My All In All"

You are my strength when I am weak, You are the treasure that I seek
You are my all in all.
Seeking You as a precious jewel, Lord, to give You up I'd be a fool
You are my all in all.
Jesus, Lamb of God, Worthy is Your name
Jesus, Lamb of God, Worthy is Your name

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are the as Christians that we can identify with the death and resurrection of Christ for our victory over our sins.   How wonderful it is to know that one day we will spend all eternity with You because of our faith and trust in You a our Lord and Savior.  Thank you Abba Father for the life changing and transformation power of the Holy Spirit the SECOND that we took Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

Today's Biblical Truth: "No inheritance is greater than our relationship with Almighty God."

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Thursday 18 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 18 August 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: 2 Thessalonians 3:16 "Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way.  The lord be with you all."

Given a choice, most of us would rather avoid things like cancer, doctors, debt, fiasco's, fatigue, insomnia, inflation and stress in general.  BUT God has not promised us a trouble free life.  In fact, the furnace of difficulty can prepare us in unique ways for service.

Consider these words from Paul in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."

This verse does not say that we need to comfort others from inside ourselves.  It points out to us to the compassionate Christ as the source of the comfort that will bless others who suffer.

Today's Hymn: "Victory In Jesus" (verse 1)

I heard an old, old story, how a Savior came from glory
How He gave His life on Calvary, to save a wretch like me;
I heard about His groaning, of His precious blood's atoning
Then I repented of my sins, and won the victory
O victory in Jesus, My Savior, forever, He sough me and bough me
With His redeeming blood; He loved me 'ere I knew Him
And all my love is due Him, He plunged me to victory
Beneath the cleansing flood

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, life is often hard, but You are always good.  May we accept Your peace in our lives and give You all of our burdens so that we might be free to worship and glorify You.  Help us in our daily life's to seek You, and to listen for your soft, tender, sweet loving voice as You guide us through each day of our temporary home here on this earth.  May we always and forever more, give You all the Praise and Glory for which You so richly deserve.
                                                                                                                  Amen

God'd Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Wednesday 17 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 17 August 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Ephesians 2:8-10 "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, least anyone should boast.  For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."

What are "good works?"  Any activity that is beneficial to God or your neighbor that reflects honor and glory to God.

Christians have been saved by grace.  The grace of God is the source of salvation; faith is the channel, not the cause.  God alone saves.  Salvation never starts in our efforts.  It is always through the loving kindness of God.

Our salvation has already occurred in the past at the cross.  We cannot do anything to earn God's free gift of salvation.  Everything that we as receive as believers is from our merciful and gracious Heavenly Father.

Today's Hymn: "Trust and Obey"

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, what a glory He shed on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still, and with all who trust and obey
Trust and obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how we as Christians and as believers thank you for Your grace that saves us from the death penalty that we deserve, but which was taken care of by Your Son Jesus upon the Cross of Calvary.   Holy Spirit, thank you for Your ever presence guidings and teachings from the Holy Spirit.
                                                                                                                         Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for 11 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name in the of Our Lord and Savior Jesus for 11 August 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Genesis 1:28 "Then God said, "Let us make man in our own image, according to our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

We were created in both the image and likeness of God.  an image is a representation or replica of one person or thing by another.  An image may be similar but not necessarily identical to its original.
The term likeness is used as a gage of comparison, or analogy.  When we sinned we retained and impaired image of God.  Regaining a likeness of God is one of the accomplishments of salvation.  Our spiritual likeness is restored in Justification.  Our character likeness is being continually developed in the process of sanctification. We will be like Christ physically when we are Glorified.  God's purpose in our lives today is to conform us to the image of Christ.

The reason that God values people so much is that we were made to reflect His majesty on earth and to have dominion and to rule God's regent.  We were to rule wisely and prudently over all that God had made.  God placed mankind as living symbols of Himself on earth to represent His reign.

Today's Hymn: "Glory To His Name"

Down at Cross where my Savior died, down where for cleansing from sin I cried
There to my heart was the blood applied, Glory to His Name
Glory to His Name, Glory to His Name
There to my heart was the blood applied, Glory to His Name

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, As we live here on this planet, that You have made, help us to conform to the image of Christ.  May Your light that is within us shine out to a dark and sinful world that we might bring others to You.
                                                                                                                   Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Wednesday 10 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 10 August 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: John 1:51 "And He said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see the heavens open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man."

In the New Testament Scripture, the primary name Jesus used of Himself was "Son of Man."  It emphasized His messianic office and uniquely identified His humanity.  The messianic nature of the title is tied to Daniels vision of the Ancient of Days.

When Stephan spoke of seeing "the Son of man standing at the right hand of God", in Acts 7:56, he clearly refered to the Messiah.  As Messiah, Jesus fulfilled the anointed offices of Prophet, Priest and King.  He is today: our Prophet (spokesman for God), Our Priest (representative before God), Our King (Ruler in the lives of God's people).

Today's Hymn: "Amazing Grace"

Amazing Grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now I am found
Was blind, but now I see

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, How thankful we are that we have Jesus who stands before the Father on our behalf, as He speaks to the father for us..  Thank you Abba Father for the grace that was so great for us that You sent Your Son to die upon the Cross of Calvary that we might receive Your grace and mercy and be reconciled back to You.  "Amazing Grace" indeed how Sweet the Sound.
                                                                                                        Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Obedience to the Lord means fellowship with Him, protection from Him and experiencing His love."

God's words of Wisdom from the Bible for Tuesday 9 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 9 August 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: 2 Timothy 3:16,17 ""All Scripture is given by inspiration of god, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."

"Given by inspiration" is literally "God breathed."  Paul teaches that God was actively involved in the revelation of his truth to the apostles and prophets who wrote them down.  The author of the Bible is God Himself.  With this we then see that the Scripture is true and it affirms that it is completely authoritative.

The study of the Bible is profitable in four ways:

(1) Doctrine (Teaching)
(2) Reproof (Conviction)
(3) Correction (Setting something straight)
(4) Instruction (the process of training a child)

The study of Scripture will make a believer complete, capable, and proficient.  We as Christians and believers are to be fully prepared.  Christians who master the Word of God will never lose his or her way.  Knowing God's word, and applying it in our daily life's will produce right practices.

Today's Hymn: Room At The Cross For You"

The cross upon which Jesus died, is a shelter in which we can hide;
And its grace so free is sufficient fro me, and deep is its fountain as wide as the sea
There's room at the Cross for you, there's room at the Cross for you
Though millions have come, there's still room for one
There's room at the Cross for you

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are for the Bible Your Holy Word.  As we study Your word, may our eyes, hearts and ears be opened to what is written there, that we might apply the teachings therein within our hearts, and our daily life's.
                                                                                                                                                   Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "True spiritual growth occurs over a period of time, through consent teaching and application of God's Word."

God's Words of Wisdom for Monday 8 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 8 August 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: John 11:34,35 " "And He said, 'Where have you laid Him?'  They said to Him, 'Lord come and see.'  Jesus wept."

Verse 35 if often pointed out as the shortest verse in the Bible, but it is also one the most important.  If Jesus delays to answer our prayers, it's not because He's unconcerned, because He shares our suffering.  He wepts both with us, and for us."

When Jesus wept, he shed tears.  He did not wept aloud in hopeless grief like the others were doing.  He knew what He was about to do, and His compassion for their pain moved Him to tears.  With this shortest verse in the Bible, Jesus showed us as then and as He does today and as He will do forever more, His deep Love and Compassion will always be there for us.

Today's Hymn: "Tears Are A Language God Understands"

Often you wonder why tears come into your eyes,
And burdens seem to be much more than you can bear
But God standing near, He sees your falling tears
And tears are a language God understands

God sees the tears of a broken hearted soul
He sees your tears and hears them when they fall
God weeps along with man and takes him by the hand
Tears are a language that my God understands
God weeps along with man and takes him by the hand
Tears are a language God understands

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful that tears are a language that You truly understand.  How comforting to know that You our Savior weep and that You still weep for Your children even today.  Jesus thank you for Your never ending Love and Compassion that sustains us even in the darkest days of lives.
                                                                                                            Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Friday 5 August 2011

"Greetings in the name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: 1 John 4:9-11 "In this, the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.  In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought to love one another."

The love of God was demonstrated with the death of Jesus upon the of Calvary on our behalf.  Jesus is the only begotten Son of God which expresses not a literal birth, but a sense of uniqueness.  In other words, Jesus is the unique Son of God and NO other person is God's Son in the way that He is.

Divine love by it's nature is unselfish.  It is self-sacrificing.  Jesus with His death, self sacrificed Himself for us, to advert the punishment our sins deserved, and which now enables God to shower His blessings on us.

In verse 11, we as Christians, are instructed that "we also ought to love one another."  It is only fitting that we as Christians are to be loving, just as God loves us.

Today's Hymn: "Love Lifted Me" (verse 1)

I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore
Very deeply stained  within, sinking to raise no more
But the Master of the sea, heard my despairing cry
From the waters lifted me, now safe am I
Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help, Love lifted me!

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are to you Most Gracious and Loving God that because of Your Son and His death and resurrection we have been rescued from the penalty of our sins.  Thank you for Your Love, Your Care, Your Mercy, and Your Grace.
                                                                                                                                           Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "It is intimately impossible to know God without loving others, for God is love."

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Thursday 4 August 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 4 August 2011"

Today's writing was inspired by wonderful and godly step sister, who was asking me about my belief on Baptism.  Since I haven't written on this subject I believe that the Holy Spirit inspired her to write me an email and ask my thoughts on it, which through the Holy Spirits guidance will be today's "God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible."  Than you sis for being such a wonderful step sister, best friend and a godly Christian woman.

Today's Bible Verse: "Romans 6:3,4 "Or do you not know that as many of us were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?  Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we should walk in newness of life."

The word "baptism" derives from a verb meaning "to immerse" or "to identify with."  Spiritual baptism happens when the new believer is united with Christ and His people, and is identified with Him in death, burial and resurrection.  Water baptism should be practiced by every Christian after conversion, hence it is sometimes called the "first step of faith."

There are many reason's why every Christian should be baptized, but Christ's example is the most compelling one.  Water baptism is the act of immersing the new believer in water as a testimony that he or she has experienced the reality of the conversion experience.  This act though IS NOT to be equated with SALVATION.

Paul reminds us of baptism's symbolic significance.  First in verse 4 it represents redemption, picturing the gospel.  Second in verse 5 baptism represents our hope in a future resurrection.  Thirdly and ultimately in verse 6, baptism symbolizes our new life.  Every believer should be baptized as a testimony to others that Christ is indeed there Lord and Savior.

Paul in these verses uses the common experience of believers being baptized as a picture of us being identified with Jesus Christ.  Baptism expresses faith the way a word expresses an idea.  Water baptism is a symbol of the spiritual union of Christ and the believer.. When a person trust Christ, he or she is incorporated into, united to, Jesus Christ which includes being united to His death.  Jesus' death becomes our death.  Christian baptism makes these spiritual realities vivid.

If a Christian identifies with the death of Christ then walking in "newness of life", would identify the believer with the resurrection of Christ.  We as believers having died and having been resurrected with Christ, should live a new kind of life that brings glory and honor to His Holy Name.

Today's Hymn: "Glorify You"

We stand in awe of Your presence, and we seek Your holiness;
For Your love, it is eternal, the Living Waters flow from You
Father in heaven, we've come to worship You
Holy Spirit, teaching us to walk with You
Jesus, sweet Savior, we want to glorify You

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are as Christians that through our faith and trust in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we can follow the example of Jesus and indeed be buried to our sins and be raised in newness of life with Him.  May we live our lives and walk constantly in the newness of life that we have through Jesus Christ.
                                                                                                                                      Amen
