God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 24 May 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: John 5:30 "I can of Myself do nothing.  As I hear, I judge; and my judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of the Father who sent me."

Christ's judgment is righteous because it is in accordance with God's divine will.  In John 5:19, Jesus says, "The Son can do nothing of Himself," and here in this verse He says that He can do nothing independent of the Father.

Jesus publicly identifies Himself with God the Father, and not only goes on at length to prove His claim is valid, but also insists that He is the source of eternal life.  This claim is validated not only by the miracles of Jesus, but by Scripture itself.  Any who rejects Him stands accused by the very book they claim to believe, "God's Holy Word."

Today's Biblical Truth: "Creation awaits the coming glory, because it also will be delivered."

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Thank You for Your Holy Word that tells us how we might be able to come to the Throne Room of Grace through Jesus Christ Your Son.  Thank You for Your Grace and the Free Gift of Salvation that we have through the shed blood of Jesus Christ.  Thank You for picking us when we fall, and may we always keep our eyes fixed upon you our Savior and Redeemer.     Amen

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 22 May 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Proverbs 31:26 "She opens her mouth with wisdom, and her tongue is the law of kindness."

In Proverbs 31, it emphasizes a different quality about the excellent wife: (1) she is rare (2) trustworthy (3) constant in her love (4) industrious (5) thrifty (6) self starting (7) willing to do hard work (8) willing to work long hours (9) willing to do monotonous work (10) compassionate (11) prepared for the future (12) a good seamstress (13) married to a leader (14) an entrepreneur (15) not swayed by circumstances (16) wise and kind (17) duty-conscious (18) blessed by her family (19) not satisfied with the mediocre (20) a woman of God (21) praiseworthy (22) a woman of means (23) a woman of great skill and abilities.

She is a woman of God who is enterprising and dedicated to her home.  Perhaps the statement on being the excellent wife is place at the end of Proverbs because she, above all others, will be the most able to demonstrate the principles of wisdom in the house.

Today's Biblical Truth: "The virtuous woman is blessed by her family, by her children as well as her husband."

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, it is my prayer that we will each day bless our mothers and grandmothers for all that they do for us.  I thank you for my mom who is a godly woman and who continues to be a wonderful source of wisdom and a continued blessing to me.  May we honor and request our Mother's for all that they do for us from, bandaging our scraped knees and elbows to cooking and tucking us in at night and telling us story's about Jesus and singing to us and for there continuing love and being that quite shelter in this thing that we call life.     Amen

                                          "A Mother's Love"

A Mother's Love is like an island, in life's ocean vast and wide
A Mother's Love is a peaceful shelter, from the wind, rain, and tide
A Mother's Love is bound on the North by Hope, By Patience on the West
By Tender Counsel on the South, and on the East by Rest
A Mother's Love is like a beacon of light, that radiates faith, truth and prayer
And through the changing scenes of life, I find haven in a Mother's Love

Have a God Filled and Spirit Led Day. Go in Peace and Serve the Lord our God with Gladness. Love God More Today. Pray for our Brothers and Sisters in Christ who are being persecuted for their Faith and trust in Jesus.  Pray for Youcef Nardarkhani the Iranian Pastor who has been sentenced to death for his refusal to denounce Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and also pray for his lawyer who has been sentenced to 9 years in prior for his defending him in the Iranian Court. Pray for God's Peace on the city of Jerusalem and His Blessings on the Nation of Israel.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus for 19 May 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: James 1:19-20 "So then my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God."

Verse 19 is a key verse because it expresses three topics that James later develops: hearing, speaking and wrath.  These three elements reveal the outline of the Book of James.

If a believer gets angry in difficult situations and circumstances, the practical righteousness of god will not be evident in his or her life.  When someone wrongs us, the natural reaction is to get even at least verbally.  But this response does not glorify God.

Holding ones tongue, and trying to understand the others person's position, and leaving vindication to God demonstrates godly love in tense situations.  Trials require silence and patience because talk inflames anger, and anger inflames talk.  Anger also distracts from listening to God.

Today's Biblical Truth: This is from a Church sign which is a great message for Today's Scripture: "ANGER is just one letter short of DANGER."

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, help us Lord in dealing with anger toward those who do us wrong.  Fine tune our listening Lord, that we might listen and be able to see the situation clearly, and help us to be slow to speak with anger and even more slower to seek revenge.  Help us to demonstrate with our words and our actions, the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit within us.     Amen

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 17 May 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Galatians 4:6 "And because you are sons, God has send forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba Father!"  Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ."

Just as "God has sent forth His Son in the fullness of time" in world history, so God has sent forth His Spirit of Christ at just the right time for every person who believes in Christ.  We as Christians know the intimacy with the Father because of the Indwelling Power of the Holy Spirit.

Every child of God was divinely given the Holy Spirit the moment he or she was adopted by God.  "Abba Father" is an Aramanic domestic term by which the father was called in the affectionate intimacy of the family.  It corresponds to our 'daddy" or "papa."  The Spirit gives us an awareness that God is our "Abba Father."  God commits Himself fully to guide us and discipline us, that we might bring credit to Him as members of His household.

Abba Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how wonderful is our love relationship with You Abba Father, and that we have a Loving and Caring Heavenly Father.  Thank You Father, for the Holy Spirit that gives us the awareness that You are indeed our 'Daddy" our "Papa."  Jesus You are the strength for each day, and without it I would surely fall.  Thank you for the joy in my life that I have because of You.    Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "God has graciously adopted all believers as His sons and daughters."

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 15 May 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Romans 8:28-29 "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.  For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren."

God has His purpose in mind when He saved us.  No one and no thing can keep Him from his goal, or us from our destiny in Jesus.

We are not told that everything happens to us in good in the sense of pleasure.  God does not promise pleasure, but He does promise that all things will contribute to our good in the sense of being for our benefit.  God will use our every experience to make us more like like Him.

Those who love God are those who are being called by God.  Our love is the response to the work of the Holy Spirit within us.  We as Christians are called according to His purpose.  God does EVERYTHING, including REDEMPTION, in order to accomplish His overall plan.

Today's Biblical Truth: "God will truly make you like Jesus."

Heaven Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, How thankful that we are to be called according to Your purpose.  Thank You for the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit that teaches us, guides us and fills us with the power from on high.  Stand by us Lord in all that we do that we might bring Glory and Honor always to You.     Amen

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 12 May 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Titus 2:11-14 ""For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works."

Twice in verse 11, Paul speaks of Christ's appearance in history.  The first time Christ came in "Grace" to save us from our sins, and the second time, he will come to "Judge" and "Reign."

The grace of God is to produce two things in the life's of the believer: (1) We are to resist the evil temptations of this world and live godly lives (2) We are to look for the return of Christ.  One of the strongest statements of the deity of Christ in the New Testament was made by Paul in verse 13 when he says, "Great God and Savior Jesus Christ."

Redeem means to "purchase."  Redemption is the act of Christ's purchasing the believer by His blood, so that we might be freed from our past captivity to sin.  We are reminded here, that God's purpose in redeeming us, is not only to save us from hell, but He wants to free us from sin, so that we can produce good works that will glorify Him.

Today's Biblical Truth: "The Lord never fails His children, no matter how difficult the circumstances are."

God's Words Of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 11 May 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Romans 10:13 "For whosoever calls upon the Name of the Lord will be saved."

Salvation is the most common Biblical expression used to identify the subjective changes in the believers lives, when by faith they have received the benefit of Christ's death and resurrection.  The term implies deliverance, safety preservation, healing and soundness.

It occurs in Scripture in three phases:

(1) Christians have been saved from the guilt and penalty of sin.
(2) Christians are saved from the habit and dominion of sin in their lives.
(3) When the Lord returns, Christians are saved from all the physical results of sin and God's
      curse on the world.

We as Christian's today should demonstrate a change in our life's to confirm our wonderful and gracious salvation that comes from our Faith, Trust, and Belief in Our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Today's Biblical Truth: "Salvation is completely from God."

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 8 May 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: John 3:3 "Jesus answered and said to them, "Most assuredly I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

The new birth or regeneration, is the act by which God imparts spiritual life to one who trusts Christ.  Without this spiritual birth, a person cannot perceive spiritual things, nor can he or she enter into the Kingdom of God.

In the King James Version in verse 3 the words, "Verily, verily" are used, and they only occur in John's Gospel, and then only for emphasis.  "Born again" may be translated either "again" or "from above."  Perhaps both ideas should be combined here, to indicate the repetition of an act from another source.

John might have said "again" had he wished to indicate repetition of an act from the same source. Only John uses this expression in the Gospels.  This concept of the new Birth includes these implications: (1) It undercuts Jewish dependence on being sons of Abraham (2) It reveals that there must be a work of God "from above," since the Jews considered children (new births) to be God's blessing and (3) It teaches the necessity of a new beginning.

Today's Biblical Truth: "The life that Jesus gives to the believer is eternal."

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 3 May 2012"

Today's Bible Verses: 1 Timothy 6:6-7 "Now godliness with contentment is great gain.  For we brought nothing into this word, and it is certain that we can carry nothing out.  And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content."

In verse 6, "godliness" suggests a reverent faith which expresses its awe of God in glad obedience to Him.

In verse 7, "and it is certain we can carry nothing out," or, "because we are unable to carry anything out," means that men and women enter the world at birth possessing nothing, in order to teach him or her that they will exit the world in the same manner, taking nothing with them.  This is a divine means of showing us that since material wealth is relatively insignificant, we should pursue the things that are important like: righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and meekness.

While we will leave everything material behind us, we take along a far greater treasure.  We take a personality that has begun to experience God's transforming work, a mind more attuned to heaven, a heart that beats closer to God's own, a will that has made choice after choice that glorifies God.  What we take with us when we leave this world is a treasure house.  What we as Christians leave behind is nothing.

Today's Biblical Truth: "Men and Women of God should pursue godliness, not materialism with all our being."

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, create within us a loving and caring heart that we might be open to those around us and that Your Light might shine from us as we reach out to that that are in darkness.  Create within a spirit that others will want what we have.  Help me not to lay my treasures here upon this earth, but lay them up in heaven.    Amen

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 1 May 2012"

Today's Bible Verses: Colossians 1:21-22 "And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight."

Being alienated from God indicates a desperate state of utter separation and isolation, which in lost humanity's relationship with God is also marked by hostility.  It is our own evil which makes us hostile to, and which alienates us from God.

Body and flesh in verse 22 clearly states that Christ became man, and experienced a physical death.  "To present you...holy in His sight," expresses the ultimate purpose of reconciliation: It is to eventually usher the believer, made perfect and holy, into the heavenly presence of God.

The believer who was once an enemy of God, and alienated by our own wicked works, will one day be presented as above reproach because of the Death of Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Today's Biblical Truth: "The work of Christ will overthrow the damage effected by the Fall and change  all of Creation from a position of enmity to a re-relationship of peace and friendship."

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Thank You for the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit.  Thank You Jesus, for the Sacrifice that You made for us, dying in our place, so that we made be reconciled to Your Father, when we accepted You into our lives.  Thank You, for Your never ending joy, and never failing Love and Care for us.  All Blessings, Honor, Glory, and Power are Yours.  May we, as Your sons and daughters, give You all the Praise that is due You, our Almighty God.      Amen
