God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Thursday 29 September 2011

"Greeting in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 29 September 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Hebrew 10:19-22 "Therefore brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of FAITH, having our hearts sprinkled from evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water."

In these verses, the writer of Hebrews demonstrates the relationship between faith, hope, and love.  Faith in God leads believers to place their hope in His promises.  Restoring a right relationship with God then prompts believers to restore their relationship with others..

Love for God demonstrates itself in love for others.  The writer here exhorts his readers to faith, hope, and love through these three commands: "Let us draw near" (verse 22); "let us hold fast" (verse 22); "let us consider" (verse 24).

Unlike the Israelites, who approached God at Mount Sinai with fear and trembling, believers can approach God with boldness because as Christians we posses Christ's righteousness and not our own.  The Holiest refers to the very presence of God.  Through the blood of Christ, we have perpetual access to God Himself.

The Old Testament priests passed through a veil to get to the holy place.  Now (Praise God) we as Believers enter God's presence through Christ's flesh, meaning his sacrificial death.  We as Believers have a High Priest who having been tempted Himself can sympathize with our weakness and perfectly represent us before God.  Our consciences can be washed through the blood of Christ.  Just as the high priest washed before entering the Most Holy Place, so we as Believers are cleansed before we come before God.

Today's Hymn: "Give Of Your Best To The Master"

Give of your best to the Master, give of the strength, of your youth
Throw your soul's fresh glowing ardor, into the battle for truth
Jesus has set the example, dauntless was he, young and brave;
Give Him your loyal devotion, give Him the best that you have
Give of your best to the Master; Give of the strength of your youth
Clad in Salvation's full armor; Join in the battle for truth

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, as we eagerly await for Your return to take us home may we as Christians continue to do Your work upon this earth spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ and telling them of the free gift of Salvation to those who come to You seeking forgiveness from there sins.  Thank you Father that we as believers have been separated from our sins and set apart to You by the once for all sacrifice of Your Son Jesus Christ.
                                                                                                                    Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Wednesday 28 September 2011"

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 28 September 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Hebrew 11:1 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

While reading the Book of Hebrews which will be the next Blog Writing after Romans (which you can view by clicking on the lick at the end of this writing) I have been blessed by reading about FAITH.  The next few days I will be writing about faith taken from the Book of Hebrews.

Today's Bible Verse is not so much a definition of what faith is, as it is a description of what faith does (Hebrew 11:6).  Two truths concerning its activity are stated here.  First, faith provides substance.  This word normally has the meaning of "assurance" in the New Testament and this seems to be the best sense here.  Second faith provides evidence.  It is evidence in the sense of proof that results in conviction.

The difference between "assurance" and "evidence" would be minimal were it not for the phrase qualifying each: "of things hoped for" and "of things not seen."  The first involves future hope; the second involves present realities that are unseen.  The first involves the hope of the resurrection, the return of Christ, and the glorification of the saints.  The second involves unseen realities, such as the forgiveness of sin through Christ's sacrifice and the present intercession of Christ in heaven on behalf of the believer.  Hope is faith relating to the future; conviction is faith relating to the present.

While the object of faith by its very nature cannot be seen, Paul will go on to remind us that its presence has a vital impact on our lives and character.  Real faith produces startling results.

Today's Hymn: "Great Is Thy Faithfulness"

Great is Thy Faithfulness, O God my Father; There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassion's, they fail not; As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be
Great is Thy Faithfulness! Great is Thy Faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see, all I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, may we as Christians come before you in faith, knowing that You are there, and that You listen to us as we come before you in prayer.  May our faith be real and strong so that You can do mighty things through us.  May our faith be as strong as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3:16-27 and have the confidence of Daniel in trusting in our God and submitting to His will.  May we faithful and obedient to serve God, regardless of the cost.
                                                                                                                     Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Tuesday 27 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus for 27 September 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: 2 Corinthians 6:17,18 "Therefore "Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord.  Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you."  "I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the LORD almighty."

A Christian should live a holy life that reflects the nature of God, who saves him (1 Peter 1:16).  He should separate himself from actions, influences, or people that will contaminate him.  A Christian should apply the Biblical principles of separation and avoid what is: (1) against a Biblical standard of purity (1 Corinthians 6:17-20; 2 Corinthians 10:4,5) (2) against a Biblical prohibition (Exodus 20:3-17) (3) an association that will harm (2 Corinthians 14-18) (4) harmful to the body (1 Corinthians 6:19) (5) harmful to a weaker brother (1 Corinthians 8:8-13) (6) offensive to the conscience (James 4:17) or (7) failure to follow the examples of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57).

We see here that the Corinthian Church was an immature congregation, with problems in many areas, but victory then, as it is today was and is available through Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57).  Correct relationship to the Holy Spirit will make a believer "holy" and "spiritual".  We as Christians are to maintain integrity in the world just as Christ did.  Since the Holy Spirit now lives with the hearts of Christians we are to keep our bodies pure and clean because that is the dwelling place of God.

Today's Hymn: "Twas A Glad Day When Jesus Found Me"

I was lost in sin when Jesus found me, But He rescued me, glory to His Name!
And the cords of worldly pleasure bound me, Till He saved me from sin and shame
"Twas a glad day when Jesus found me, when His strong arms were thrown around me;
When my sins He buried in the deepest sea, and my soul He filled with joy and victory
"Twas a glad day, O hallelujah! 'Twas a glad day when He claimed His own
I will shout a glad hosanna in glory, when I see Him upon His throne

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how wonderful it is to have a loving Heavenly Father who listens to us and who is ready to help us and deliver us from our trials and storms of life.  May we as your representatives and ambassadors go out and spread the Good News to those around us to be reconciled to God and to listen to the forgiving voice of their Creator.  Thank You Jesus for taking our sins and casting them into the depth of the sea and when we stand before You and the Book of Life is opened it will say by our names, "Washed By the Blood of the Lamb.
                                                                                                                                    Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Jesus never did anything wrong.  Yet he died for our sins, so that we could be declared righteous, that is to say justified."

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Monday 26 Sepember 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 26 September 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Romans 8:13 "For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put death the deeds of the body, you will live."

Death here does not mean physical death, because those who live according to the Spirit also die physically.  It refers to the experience of those who live their lives apart from God. By walking according to the Spirit, by being spiritually minded, the believer can put to death sinful deeds and live for God.

The Scriptures use the word flesh in five ways.  It may refer to (1) the body or physical being (2) the old nature or sin nature (3) the skin (4) man's immaterial nature or (5) the whole being of man.  Paul uses the term "flesh" in these verses from Romans 8.  Flesh itself is not evil, yet Paul uses it to represent humanity's evil nature, which cannot please God.  Christians should glorify God in their physical bodies (flesh) as well as their spirits, since both belong to God.

How can we know that what Paul is speaking about is real?  The Spirit's presence in the Christian is unmistakable!  We sense His promptings and respond.  We find a new direction in our relationship with God.  Deep down, our changed lives and sense of closeness to God make it absolutely clear--we are God's children.  If you do not feel it, believe it.  If you believe it, and then act on it, you will surely feel it. Catherine Martin in her Book "W Woman's Walk In Grace" says it this way, "God'd Grace: BELIEVE IT, RECEIVE IT, LIVE IT".

The Spirit's work within us is present tense salvation:  We are being saved from the power of sin and becoming righteous.  When Jesus comes we will be saved completely, liberated from the last vestiges of sin which clings so persistently to us.

Today's Hymn: "Stand By Me"

When the storms of life are raging, Stand by me (stand by me)
When the storms of life are raging, Stand by me (stand by me)
When the world is tossing me, Like a ship upon the sea
Thou Who ruleth wind and water, Stand by me (stand by me)

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful that when we took You into our lives that we became Your sons and daughters and have been adopted into Your kingdom.  We as Your children have an inheritance based on our relationship with You Abba Father.  May we deal with the trials and tribulations here on this earth, knowing, that someday we will receive the eternal blessings of glory, from You, when you welcome us into your kingdom by saying, Welcome to the kingdom that I have prepared for you Thou Good and Faithful Servant.
                                                                                                                                     Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Friday 23 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 23 September 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Ephesians 6:12 "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."

Several activities in the Bible may involve demons.  Sometimes they cause physical disease or mental suffering.  However, not all mental disorders are demonic in orgin.  Demons also tempt people into immoral practices.  They originate and propagate false doctrines taught by heretical religious groups (1 Timothy 4:1).  The Bible also teaches that some people were possessed by demons (Mark 1:23)  Although demons are committed to do evil, God will use them to accomplish His plan during the end age (Revelations 16:14).

Demons are also objects of worship in various occult practices forbidden by God.  These include divination (an illegitimate means of determining the will of God), necromancy (efforts to communicate with and interrogate the dead), magic (using formulas and incantations), sorcery (perhaps the non medical use of drugs), witchcraft, and astrology (Deuteronomy 18:10-12).

In the Book of Ephesians we are told that when the Ephesian Christians were "dabbling" in the occult repented, there was a great revival in that place.  No Christian can ever justify his or her participation in demonic activities.

As Christians our real battle is not against cultists, false religions, atheists, agnostics or pseudo-Christians, but with the demonic beings working through them.

Today's Hymn: "Redeemed How I Love To Proclaim It"

Redeemed, and so happy in Jesus, no language my rapture can tell
I know that the light of His presence, with me doth continually dwell
Redeemed, redeemed, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb
Redeemed, redeemed, His child and forever I am

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, as we dwell upon this earth and battle against our spiritual foe may be put on the whole armor of God.  May we put on the belt of truth, the breast plate of righteousness, our feet with the gospel of peace, the shield of faith to quench all the fiery darts of Satan and his demons, the helmet of salvation, and use the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.  May we like a sponge soak up Your words, so that we can Hid Your Words, in our hearts and then when we are attacked by Satan, may we as Jesus say, "IT IS WRITTEN", and Satan will have to as He did with Thee, flee, because of our faith and trust in You.
                                                                                                                                             Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Thursday 22 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 22 September 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Matthew 28:18-20 "And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth,  Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you, and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

In verse 19 there are three things that this verse brings out.  (1) The Trinity, (2) Deity of the Holy Spirit and (3) The purpose of the Church.

THE TRINITY: Trinity designates one eternal God in unity, yet existing in three eternal persons.  The members of the trinity are equal in nature, distinct in person, and subordinate in duties.  As the Son is eternally begotten by the Father, so Jesus is submissive to do the work of the Father, yet equal in nature to Him.  The Father is the source of authority, the Son is the channel, and the Holy Spirit the agent whereby authority is exercised.  Because each member of the Trinity is God, and a distinct person, each should be so recognized by the Christian (Genesis 48:15; Numbers 6:24-26; Isaiah 6:3) .

DEITY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: There is no shortage of Biblical evidence for the Deity of the Holy Spirit .  He is spoken of in Scripture as God.  The attributes of God are assigned to Him, He is engaged in the work of God, and He receives honor due only to God.  Further, He was recognized as God by the early church both in baptismal formula (verse 19) and in the apostolic benediction (2 Corinthians 13:14).  Finally the words of the Holy Spirit are recognized as being the words of God.  Paul recognized the deity of the Holy Spirit in his ministry when he followed the leading of the Holy Spirit (Acts 16:7).  One of the Biblical characteristics of believers is that they are led by the Spirit of God.

PURPOSE OF THE CHURCH: The controlling purpose of the local church is to make disciples of all kinds of people.  Those who are evangelized and converted should then be baptized, attesting to their Identification with Christ and the local body of believers.  The final phase of the Great Commission is to train disciples in Christian knowledge and for effective service.  A church cannot choose on aspect of its responsibility and neglect the others.  The Great Commission is a simple command with three steps: (1) evangelism, (2) baptism, and (3) education.  The Great Commission is the strategy by which the church at Jerusalem saturated its community with the gospel.

If we were to follow the Great Commission as did the early church and saturate our communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ the local churches would be overflowing with those who are hungry to learn more about Jesus Christ and His free gift of salvation.  Are we as Christians and as the Church Family using the three simple steps of the Great Commission?  Are we reaching out to those who are in need of the saving power and grace of Our Almighty Abba Father?  Do the people around you see Christ in You? Are you being that light on the hill that is bringing the lost to you so you can be as bold as Peter and Paul and tell them about your Lord and Savior who has changed your life and who has saved you?  Every Christian should be shouting from the mountain tops with praise and song and tell others others as Peter said, "Thou art Christ, the Son of the Living God".

Today's Hymn: "Praise Him! Praise Him!

Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
Sing O Earth, His wonderful love proclaim
Hail Him! Hail Him! highest archangels in glory
Strength and honor give to His Holy Name!
Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard His children
In His arms He carries them all day long
Praise Him! Praise Him! Tell of His excellent greatness
Praise Him! Praise Him! Ever in joyful song!

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are for you Father who saves us by Your grace.  How thankful we are Jesus that You gave your sinless life as an atonement for our sins on the Cross of Calvary and then arose on the third day conquering death, sin and Satan and freeing us from the chains of sin forever.  Thank you Holy Spirit for the indwelling power, teaching and guidance that we as believers receive from you.  May we as the Christian church go out and boldly evangelize, baptize and teach the new Christians to observe all things that you have commanded us as Christians to do, in serving You.
                                                                                                                               Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Wednesday 21 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 21 September 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Psalm 95:1-3 "Oh come, let us sing to the Lord!  Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.  For the Lord is the great God, and the great King above all gods."

This psalm promises God's presence, and it invites us into His presence!!  As we worship, He reminds us of His forgiveness and His love for us.  As we worship, He works His word more deeply into our hearts, so it can strengthen and encourage us.  As we worship, He ensures us that we are not alone.  He's present with us, and we as Christians belong to His family.

The verses of this psalm place particular emphasis on the worship of God with energy and delight.  The psalmist calls us as Christians today to acknowledge the Lord as the "great God" above all others and to worship Him.  We are to worship by hearing and responding obediently to His voice.  Not to respond is to lose our opportunity for rest.

Today's Hymn: "Count Your Blessings"

When upon life's billow you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done
Count your blessings, name them one by one
Count your blessings, see what God hath done
Count your blessings, name them one by one
And it will surprise you, what the Lord hath done.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, How we thank you Abba Father for the layer upon layer of blessings, that You provide for all those who have accepted you into there life's.  Thank You for inviting us into Your presence, through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, and we choose to dwell in Your presence today and forever.  As we worship and grow closer to You, may we each day, feel Your loving arms around us, and may we be still and listen to what You have to say to us.
                                                                                                                                          Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Tuesday 20 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 20 September 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: 1 John 2:15-17: Do not love the world or the things in the world.  If anyone loves the world , the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world.  And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever."

Do not love the world in verse 15 can be worded to say, "STOP LOVING THE WORLD." John is telling us that we are acting in a way inconsistent in regard to our relationship with Christ.  The World is the morally evil system opposed to all that God is and hold dear.  In this sense, the world is the satanic system opposing Christ's kingdom on this earth.

Though all people are tempted differently according to their individual weakness, temptations follow patterns.  They appeal to three fundamental areas of our life's: (1) the lush of the flesh (physical desires) (2) the lust of the eyes (personal desires) and (3) the pride of life (self-interest).

When Satan caused the fall of the human race, he appealed to each of these areas of weakness Genesis 3:6).  He also appealed to them when he tempted Christ (Matthew 4:1-11).  But Jesus defied Satan's temptations by saying "IT IS WRITTEN" thus relying on Scripture to defeat Satan's temptations and with the defeat "Then the devil left Him..."  We as Christians today should also depend on the Scriptures to defeat temptation.

Given the nature of the "world" in the New Testament, worldliness is not a matter of some list of do's and don'ts.  It is adopting the perspectives (cravings), the values (lust of the eyes), and attitudes (the boosting of status) of man's society rather than the perspective, values, and attitudes of God.   In verse 17 John is telling us that to be consumed with this life is to be unprepared for the next.  What a tragedy to invest our resources in what will not last.

Today's Hymn: "Here I Am To Worship"

Light of the world You stepped down into darkness, opened my eyes to let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore, Hope of a life spent with You
So here I am to worship, Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God, and You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy, Altogether wonderful to me
King of all days, oh highly exalted, glorious in heaven above
Humbly You came to the earth You created, all for loves sake became poor
So her I am to worship, here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God, and You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy, Altogether wonderful to me

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, may we as Christians always realize that we are living here on this planet which is our temporary home not be caught up and consumed with the material things of this world and focus on You and building up our treasures on heavenly things.  May our words, our life's and our actions always be a light to those who are lost and in need of the Good News of salvation that comes from Jesus Christ.  May we not love the things of this world, but fall in love with the coming of Your Kingdom.
                                                                                                                             Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Monday 19 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 19 September 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Revelation 20:15 "And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire."

The Scripture never refer to death as the mere cessation of life, but instead as the unnatural separation of something from that to which it belongs.  Therefore, a body without the spirit suffers physical death.  The expression second death defines the separation of man from God.

Human consciousness is conveyed in the Biblical description of second death, suggesting that the beast and false prophet will both remain alive for a thousand years after being cast into the lake of fire.  When a person is saved, he or she has passed from death to life, and can be assured he or she will never come into condemnation.

Saving faith brings the believer into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ His Son, whose death is credited as payment for our sins.  Thus when we are saved our names are written in the "Book of Life" by faith not by works.  All others will be judged on the basis of "what they have done."

On that basis, every human being falls short of God's Glory and are revealed to be sinners, guilty, and meriting the punishment that God as Judge will someday mete out at the Great White Throne Judgment.  Hebrews 9:27 reminds us that "it is appointed for men to die once , but after this the judgment." The second death is not biological for the unbeliever but the eternal state of being lost.  It is "death" in that it involves permanent separation from God and that punishment is to be casted in the Lake of Fire for all eternity.

Only those whose names are written in the "Book of Life will escape the lake of fire.  The rejection of the eternal gospel results in eternal condemnation.  God gives us two choices to make in our life's.  You can choose either what I call A or D.  A being "Accept" and have your name written in the Lamb's Book of Life and Live forever with Jesus our Lord and Savior or D for "Deny" and stand before God and have Him as your Creator look you right in the eye and say to you, "Depart from me for I never knew you" and be casted into the Lake of Fire that was created for the Devil and his angels, but all non-believers will go to as well because they hardened there hearts to the free gift of salvation and saving grace that was there's just by accepting it and trusting in Jesus Christ as there Lord and Savior.

Today's Hymn: "Anywhere With Jesus"

Anywhere with Jesus, over land and sea, Telling souls in darkness of salvation free
Ready as He summons me to go or stay, Anywhere with Jesus when He points the way
Anywhere, anywhere! Fear I cannot know, Anywhere with Jesus I can safely go

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, today Lord I come before you asking that if there is anyone who is reading this writing today, who has not asked you into the life's, and who have not received the free gift of Salvation which we receive once we have accepted You into our lives, and who have not experienced the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit, and whose names are not written in Your Book of Life, I humbly ask that the heart the Holy Spirit is speaking to right now, that they not hardened their hearts, but open them, and receive the peace that passes all understanding, and experience the true joys of life that they will experience in this life, and the life to come in the eternal presence of Jesus, who is the SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY and FOREVER, and who is, and will always be, the Light of the World.
                                                                                                                                 Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." Matthew 7:13,14

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Sunday 18 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 18 September 2011.

Today's Bible Verse: 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 " Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we might be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."

In verse 3 "blessed" expresses adoration and praise.  Paul called God the God and father of Christ.  Even though Jesus is God, as the incarnate Son, He was dependant on God the Father.  Thus God the father was His God.

Comfort here in these verses means, "exhortation" "encouragement", "cheer."  Paul used this word, ten times in verses 3-7.   When we as believers meet we are to encourage each other in the faith.

In verse 4 tribulation means "distress" or "affliction".  God comforts us not only to make us comfortable but also to make us comforters.  The comfort the God gives to us becomes a gift we can give to others.  Our willingness to share it reflects the sincerity of our faith.

Today's Hymn: "When We All Get to Heaven"

Sing the wondrous love of Jesus, Sing His mercy and,  His grace
In the mansions bright and blessed, He'll prepare for us a place
When we all get to heaven, What a day of rejoicing that will be
When we all see Jesus, We'll sing and shout the victotry

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are as Christians to know that with Your comfort we do have, encouragement and cheer in our daily walk with Thee.  May we as Christians reach out to the lost of this world to share the gift of comfort that we have with you so it reflects the sincerity of our faith to You.
                                                                                                               Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Saturday 17 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 17 September 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: 1 John 4:18,19 "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment.  But He who fears has not been made perfect in love.  We love Him because He first loved us."

A mature understanding of God's love removes any fear of God's Judgment as believers in Christ.  Abject fear of god is based on dread of punishment.  But God's love for us renders such dread obsolete.  Fear is still part of the Christian walk in the sense of profound reverence, the unwillingness to violate God's trust in us.  Believers need not fear eternal rejection as a result of God's judgment, but this does not mean that a Christians approach to God is to be casual and flippant.

Love and fear are not compatible.  When we experience God's love for us out whole attitude toward God is transformed.  We still should stand in awe of Him, but that awe is without terror or fear of punishment.  The more we live in love, (living in love means expressing as well as receiving love), the more confident we become in our relationship with the Lord.

Today's Hymn: "Amazed"

You dance over me while I am unaware, You sing all around
But I never hear the sound, Lord, I am amazed by You
Lord, I am amazed by You, and how You love me
You paint the morning sky with miracles and lines
My hope will always stand, You hold me in Your hand
Lord, I am amazed by You, and how You love me
How wide, how deep, How great is Your love for me
Lord I am amazed by You, How you love me
Oh Lord, I am amazed by you, Lord I am amazed by You
And how much You love me

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, what a Gracious, Loving, Merciful and Wonderful God that we as believers serve.  We are truly amazed Father that Your love for us was present even before the foundation of this universe that You have Created.  May we in our everyday walk with Thee praise You and Glorify You the King of kings and Lord of lords.  May we worship You with our praise, or words and our actions so that we might be that beacon of light that will draw the unbeliever to us so that we can share with them the Good News of the Free Gift of Salvation that comes by believing and trusting in Jesus Christ as there Lord and Savior.
                                                                                                                                 Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for 16 September 2011

"Greeting in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 17 September 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Psalm 20:7 "Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the LORD our God."

God wants you to trust Him in all your thoughts.  You as His child can direct your conscious thoughts more than you realize.  Practice thinking in certain ways, trusting Him and thanking Him and then those thoughts will become more natural. Reject any negative or sinful thoughts as soon as you become aware of them.  Don't try to hide from God; confess your sins and leave them with Him and then go on your way lightheartedly. This method of controlling your thoughts will keep you mind in God's presence and your feet on the path of peace.

Chariots in verse 7 were the leading weapon on the ancient battlefield just as tanks are today.  The implements of warfare are mere tools in God's hands, the wise will trust in God because the battle belongs to Him.

The issue raised in verse 7 is reliance.  Belief can be intellectual.  Trust is a far more personal and challenging concept.  Trust in God is resting the full weight of our confidence in Him, counting on Him alone to deliver us.

This psalm suggest seven things in which King David and the Old Testament congregation trusted God.  God can be trusted: (1) to hear us in time of trouble (2) to protect us (3) to send help (4)  to support (strengthen) us (5) to give us our hearts desire  (6) to make our plans succeed and (7) to answer us with saving power.  When God can surely do all this for us, we would be foolish not to trust Him.

Today's Hymn: "Tell It To Jesus"

Are you weary, are you heavy hearted? Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus
Are you grieving over joys departed? Tell it to Jesus alone
Tell it to Jesus, tell it to Jesus, He is a friend that's well known
You've no other such a friend or brother, Tell it to Jesus alone.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how wonderful it is to place ALL our FAITH and TRUST in You.  How wonderful it is that we can depend on You for Your STRENGTH and POWER to make it through the storms and trials of our life.  May our hearts and thoughts always be upon You and may we, when we are tempted, remember what Jesus said when he was tempted in the wilderness, "IT IS WRITTEN" and hid HIS words in our hearts that we might not sin against Thee.
                                                                                                                           Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Above King David was God the Great King; moreover, one day King Jesus will rule from sea to sea."

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Thursday 15 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 15 September 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: 2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning His promises, as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."

The delay of God's Judgment is not due to slackness, but to God's Sovereign desire that everyone turn to Him and turn away from sinful life's.

How good it is to have an answer for those who ridicule the idea of a coming Judgment Day.  "God's just waiting for you to be saved!"  His delay is just more evidence of His Unending Love.

Today's Hymn: "Great Is Thy Faithfulness"

Great is Thy Faithfulness, O God my Father; There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassion's, they fail not; As thou hast been, thou forever will be
Great is Thy Faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.  All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Great is Thy Faithfulness to all those who believe and trust in You.  How great it is to call upon and serve a Loving, Caring and Merciful God.  Thank you Lord Jesus for taking my sins upon Yourself when you died on the Cross of Calvary.  Thank you for arising on the third day conquering death and sin and then sending to us the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit the moment we accepted You into our lives.  May we as Your children always bring glory and honor to Your Name.

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Thursday 14 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 14 September 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Deuteronomy 29:29 "The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words f this law."

The secret things refers to the future, as well as the way in which the curses would come to pass.  The will of God has been revealed in the law.  If these revelations were acted upon, the people of Israel would receive God's great blessing.

While even today we can appreciate God's creation and be impressed by what it reveals concerning Him, our most complete record of what God is like is in the Bible.  Just as it was for the people of Israel to ignore the express commandments of God would be foolish, so it is with Christians today to ignore what God has revealed in the Bible.  To ignore that wish is written in the Bible, while chasing after things God has left secret is also pure foolishness.

Today's Hymn: "Take My Life And Let It Be"

Take my voice, and let it sing, always, only for my King
Take my lips, and let them be, filled with message from Thee
Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect, and use every power, as Thou shalt choose.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are that you have given us the Bible Your Holy Word that we might learn more about You.  Help us Lord to focus on what You have presented and revealed to us and not to focus on things that You have not revealed to us.  As we grow as Christians in reading your Word, open our hearts, minds and souls to what we read that e might apply its teachings to our everyday lives, so that we can be victories in You and sing praises to You the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Today's Biblical Truth: "Because believers are united with Jesus both in His death and resurrection, they participate in the new creation."

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Tuesday 13 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 13 September 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Romans 8:14-17 "For many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.  For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by who cry out, Abba Father.  The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together."

In verse 16 the witness of the Spirit is the inner assurance of God's truth.  One of the conditions of this inner conviction concerning the things of God is obedience to His known will.  God uses the Holy Spirit to convict us of truth that cannot be understood other than through divine help.

In Matthew 16:17, Peter received spiritual insight from God as to who Jesus really was.  This knowledge does not mean that Peter had nothing to learn, because in Matthew 16:23 we see that Jesus rebuked Peter for his lack of spiritual insight.

On July 11th 2010 at 11:55 p.m. I experienced the unmistakable presence of the Holy Spirit in my life the moment I accepted Jesus Christ into my life and it totally transformed my life in that I now serve the King of this vast universe and not the god of this world.

We as Christians need to sense His promptings and respond to the call of the Holy Spirit.  I have found a new freedom in my relationship with God.  Deep down, my life changed and my sense of closeness to God make it absolutely clear that I am a daughter of the King of kings and Lord of lords. (Wow)

If you are reading this and you do not feel it, then BELIEVE IT.  If you BELIEVE IT, and ACT on it, you will surely FEEL IT, for Jesus the second that you accept Him into your life sends to you the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit who will GUIDE YOU, TEACH YOU, and COUNSEL YOU.

Today's Hymn: "Child of the King"

My Father is rich in houses and lands, He holdeth the wealth of the world in His hands!
Of rubies and diamonds, of silver and gold, His coffers are full, He has riches untold
I'm a child of the King, a child of the King, with Jesus as my Savior, I'm a child of the King

Abba Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how we thank you for the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit the second that we believed and trusted in you.  What a transformation it is have the Holy Spirit's guidance in our life's and to lay up treasures in heaven and not be of this world.  May we seek the presence of God and be branches that we might bear much fruit for the kingdom of God.
                                                                                                                         Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "When believers cry out to the Father in prayer, the Holy Spirit intercedes with them."

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for 11 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 11 September 2011"

Before I begin, I would like for those reading this, to take a few moments in silent prayer for those that lost there loved ones in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on this date 10 years ago.

Today's Bible Verse: Matthew 18:15 "Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone.  If he hears you, you have gained your brother."

Believers are family as well as flock.  In any family, brothers and sisters do not sin against and hurt one another.  Here in this verse Jesus emphasizes the necessity of reconciliation.  The one who is hurt is to confront the other in an effort to win reconciliation.

If the offender will not acknowledge his or her fault others are brought in because there can be no reconciliation without confession by the one at fault and forgiveness by the one offended.  In going to another we show our readiness to forgive.  To preserve "little oneness" in the church, we must insist the offender face his of her fault. If the erring one will will not respond, then that person be cut off from the fellowship.  This loss would be extremely painful to the offender.

Today' Hymn: "Grace Greater Than Our Sin"

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord, grace that exceeds our sin and our doubt
Yonder on Calvary's mount our poured, there where the blood of the Lamb was spilled
Grace, grace, God's grace, Grace that will pardon and cleanse within
Grace, Grace, God's grace, Grace that is greater than all our sins

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, may we as Christians follow the example of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and forgive those that have done us wrong.  May we act in good faith and the right spirit in attempting to work out a reconciliation to those who have done us wrong, just as you Father, have forgiven us of our sins, when we confessed our sins to you.
                                                                                                                                             Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for 10 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 10 September 2011"

Saturday's Weekend Bible Verse: Luke 16:13 "No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other.  You cannot serve God and mammon."

The statement "Two Masters" by Jesus in verse 13 is psychologically true.  The idea of commitment to serving God and money is self-contradictory, because the two motivate us to make very different choices.

For instance, a person who owns a housing occupied by the poor might experience conflict between a desire to make profit from the property and to maintain it in a decent condition.  These motives are so contradictory that he or she must choose (LOVE) one and reject (HATE) the other!

We can't serve God and money simply because we have to choose between the vastly different courses each calls for.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, may we as Christians ask ourselves the question "What would Jesus do",  when we have issues in deciding what we should do with the materialist things in our lives.  May the decisions that we make be pleasing to You, and may others  see Your light in us.

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for 9 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 9 September 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Hosea 10:12 "Sow for yourself righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you."

As plowing and planting are necessary steps for growing a crop, which will sprout when the rain falls, so it is with a Christian.  The Holy Spirit plows us (convicts us) and plants the seeds and the Word of God is the rain that waters the seeds in our hearts that we might grow and nature into His likeness and His Will.

God calls all of His people to serve Him.  If we are committed to Him, if we commit ourselves to the tasks to which He calls us, we will fulfill our potential, and will bear the fruit of His love, as we reach out to bear fruit to others.

Today's Hymn: "A New Name in Glory"

I was once a sinner, but I came, pardon to receive from my Lord
This was freely given, and I found, that He always kept His word
There's a new name written down in glory, and it's mine, O yes, its mine
And the white robed angels sing the story, "A sinner has come home"
For there's a new name written down in glory, and its mine, O yes its mine!
With all my sins forgiven I am homeward bound for heaven, never more to roam

Heaven father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, thank you for the Holy Spirit, which plants the seeds in out hearts, and thank you for Your Holy Word, which provides the water to nourish the seeds that we might grow in Your love and mercy.  As the seed grows in our hearts, may we grow and bear fruit for You, as we become the vines of reaching out to others for You.
                                                                                                                                       Amen

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Thursday 8 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 8 September 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: 1 Corinthians 6:19,20 "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?  For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God's."

Through our Union with Christ, our bodies have become His, temples in which the Holy Spirit dwells.  Whatever we do in the body must honor Christ, for He is present in us because he is now us.

The words "bought at price" in verse 20, alludes to someone purchasing a slave at a slave auction.  With the death and the shed blood of Jesus Christ, He paid the cost to redeem us from our slavery to sin and eternal death.  "Praise God"

Today's Hymn: "Jesus Paid It all"

I heard the Savior say, "thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray, find in Me thine all in all."
Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how we thank you Abba Father for Your on Jesus Christ who took it upon Himself to go to Calvary and die and shed His blood to cleanse us from our crimson stains that He now makes as white as snow the second that we invited Him into our life's.  Lord our strength indeed is small but because of Jesus we can find in Him our all in all.
                                                                                                                                            Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Now because of the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit living with in the believer, cleansing power now flows out of our lives and effects all those whom come into contact with us."

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for 7 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 7 September"

Today's Bible Verse: Romans 5:19 "For as by one man's disobedience, many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will made be righteous."

"Disobedience" are specific acts that violate standards established by God and also focuses attention on a corrupt human nature.  Sin lives lives in the human personality.  It is a distortion of that which God created, a warping of our natural desires, understandings, and wills, so that we want and choose what is wrong.

The word "made" in this verse means "to make", "constitute".  As the result of Adam's sin, we as the humans race became sinners.  It was by the death of Jesus Christ that we are made righteous.  That means, believers are actually being constituted or made righteous.  Through the work of the Holy Spirit, the believer who has been declared righteous by God is continually becoming more righteous.

Today's Hymn: "Great Is Thy Faithfulness"

Great is Thy Faithfulness, O God my Father, there is no shadow of turning with Thee
Thou changest not, Thy compassion's, they fail not, As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.
Great is Thy Faithfulness! Great is Thy Faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided; Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, thank you for making us righteous because of the shed blood of Your Son Jesus Christ, who died to set us free, and release us from the shackles of bondage to sin, and eternal death.  We thank you, and praise Your Name, that we now belong to Christ and our heritage in Him, is righteousness and eternal life.

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for 6 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 6 September 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: James 4:5,6 "Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "the Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously"?  But He gives more grace.  Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble."

Envy here is God's jealous longing for our love.  Our Heavenly Father is truly disturbed when we abandon friendship with Him to make friends with the world and he is disturbed for our sake.

How does God respond to this? Not with punishment, but "more grace" to lead us back into His arms.  Only our own pride can keep us from responding to His grace, turning our back on the world, and experiencing His blessings.

Today's Hymn: "Redeemed How I Love To Proclaim It"

Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!  Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb
Redeemed through His infinite mercy, His child and forever I am
Redeemed, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb
Redeemed, redeemed His child and forever I am

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, thank you for Your Grace that saves us from our sins and for the cleansing power of the blood of Your Son Jesus Christ which cleanses us from all unrighteousness.
                                                                                                                                  Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "In prayer, God does not bow to our will; instead we submit to His good will for our lives."

God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for 5 September 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 5 September 2011"

Today's Bible Verse" Mark 10:14-16 "But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for such is the kingdom of God.  Assuredly, I say to you, whosoever does not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.  And He took them in His arms, laid His hands on them and blessed them."

"Wow"  What a wonderful description of the love of Jesus for children.  Since I am a child of God, I as these children in Today's verses am looking forward to the day with His taking me in His strong and loving arms and laying His hands upon me, and His gazing into my eyes and hearing Him talk and laugh.

When the disciples of Jesus rebuked parents who tried to bring there children to Him, He was "deeply displeased".  We are foolish to ignore the little ones who are very important to the Lord.  Children show sincerity, eagerness, a trusting attitude and total dependence on their parents.  With that child-likeness, we as Christians need to have that same attitude in serving and being dependent on our Heavenly Father.

Today's Hymn" Child of the King"

My Father is rich in houses and lands, He holdeth the wealth of the world in His hands!
Of rubies and diamonds, of silver and gold, His coffers are full He has riches untold
I'm a child of the King, a child of the King, with Jesus as my Savior, I'm a child of the King

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, May we come before you as children with sincerity, eagerness, a trusting attitude and total dependence on you for everything that we do as Christians in serving You as our Heavenly Father.
                                                                                                                              Amen

Today's Biblical Truth: "Let Jesus be your example and be sensitive to the needs of others."
