God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 21 December 2012, from Cindi, a Daughter of the Kings of kings and Lord of lords."

Today's Bible Verse: Commandment Number 10 of God's Ten Commandments

Commandment Number 10: Exodus 20:17 "You shall not covet your neighbors house; you shall not covet your neighbors wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, or his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbors."

The word covet means "to have a strong desire for."  Coveting is not merely an application of something from a distance, but a uncontrolled, inordinate, selfish desire.  This Tenth Command
governed an internal matter: for the sin of coveting occurred in the mind.

This demonstrated that God intended the Israelites not only to avoid the actions named in the previous commands, but also to turn away from the evil thoughts that led to these actions.  To want something which God has chosen to give to another, reveals a failure to give God priority in our lives.

Have a God Filled and Spirit Led Day. Go in Peace and Serve the Lord our God with Gladness.
Love God More Today.  Always remember that when you have a spiritual, emotional, relational, physical, or financial dilemma in your life, and you yell out, "I CAN'T," GOD Whispers to you, "BUT I CAN."

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ for 18 December 2012, from Cindi, a Daughter of the King of kings and Lord of lords."

Today's Bible Verse: Commandment Number 9 of God's Ten Commandments

Commandment Number 9: Exodus 20:19 "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."

Commandment Number 9, prohibited bearing false witness.  First, the command protected the reputation of the people from libel to others.  Second, this command established the Israelite system of justice on a firm foundation.  In Israelite law, the judging of a persons guilt or innocence was based on testimony by faithful witnesses.  False witnesses could and would under mind justice.

This command includes, but goes beyond testimony given in court.  False testimony in any malicious statement intended to degrade or harm anyone.  The reputation of others as well as there property is to be guarded by all.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 15 December 2012, from Cindi, a Daughter of the King of kings, and Lord of lords."

Today's Bible Verse: Commandment Number 8 of God's Ten Commandments

Commandment Number 8: Exodus 20:15 "Thous shall not steal."

Before I begin, as you all know by now a gunmen went into an elementary school of kids 5-10 and opened fire killing 20 children and 6 Adults. Please uplift up the families in Prayer who lost children and loved ones in this senseless shooting of  children and school officials.  Pray that God's Love, Peace, Strength, and Comfort be with all the families.

The Eighth Commandment of God's Ten Commandments protected the sanctity of property by prohibiting theft.  The commandment prohibits stealing of ANY kind.  The concern here is not so much the rights of the individuals property, as for the destructive impact of stealing on relationships within the community.

The penalty for theft in the Old Testament is not jail, but restitution by paying back as least twice which was stolen.  Payment to the victim is intended to restore harmony by balancing the books, and is not punitive.  In our society today, stealing can led to probation, jail time, and in more serious thief's, prison time.  In some Third World Countries the penalty for stealing is cutting off of the hands.

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for Thursday 13 December 2012, from Cindi, a Daughter of the King of kings, and Lord of lords."

Today's Bible Verse: Commandment Number 7 of God's Ten Commandments

Commandment Number 7: Exodus 20:14 "You shall not commit adultery."

The Seventh Commandment concerned "adultery."  God regards the sanctity of marriage as a sacred trust similar to the sanctity of life.  The integrity of relationships is critical in the eyes of God.  The faithfulness of a man and a woman to each other reflects faithfulness of God to His people.  Scripture sees adultery, as a sin against God, a denial of the marriage covenant that binds a couple to the Lord.

Jesus, in Matthew 6:27-28 says, "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not commit adultery.'  But I say to you, that whoever looks at a woman to lust after her, has already committed adultery with her in his heart."  Jesus in this passage, tells us that ANYONE who gazes at another with the purpose of wanting that person sexually has mentally committed adultery.

The sanctity of marriage is very important to God and that when a couple go into the Marriage, and repeat the Wedding Vows to each other it is binding in the eyes of the Lord.  God performed the first wedding when he made Adam and Eve after His image, and brought them together in the Garden of Eden.  As a christian Man and Woman it is very important to find a mate who is also a Christian that the marriage must bring Glory and Honor to God.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 11 December 2012, from Cindi, a Daughter of the of the King of kings, and Lord of lords."

Today's Bible Verse: Commandment Number 6 of God's Ten Commandments

Commandment Number 6: Exodus 20:13: "You shall not murder."

Commandment Number 6 through 9 were designed to build a cohesive society.  Each was based on people (their lives, their relationships, their property, and their reputation.)  Each of Commandments six through nine were reaffirmed in the New Testament.

"You shall not murder" did not forbid all taking of life, for the Law itself, included provisions of capital punishment as well as warfare.  The deliberate murder of another person flagrantly, violated the the sanctity of life.

The first murder in the Bible occured in Genesis 4:8-18 when Cain killed Abel.  But the most read about murder of all time, is located in the New Testament, and was the murder of Jesus which was based on false charges and an illegal trial, conducted by the Jewish Religious Leaders.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 8 December 2012, from Cindi, a Daughter of the King of kings and Lord of lords."

Today's is Number 5 in God's Ten Commandments

Commandment Number 5: Exodus 20:12: "Honor you father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord Your God is giving you."

Honor your father and mother means, "to treat with significance," "to treat with respect." Care of ones elderly parents was a basic element of social responsibility.  Here it is tied directly to how a person would fare in the land.  People who are faithless to God in disregarding their parents, would not last long in the New promised Land.

Parents are God's instruments in a child's life, to meet his or her physical needs, and introduce the child to God's ways.  The spiritual priority of parents is seen in many of Israel's religious ceremonies, such as the Passover Meal, which was conducted within the Family.

Deuteronomy 6 and 11, fix responsibility for naturing in the home.  It's significant that in the predominantly "male" Old Testament World "mother" is given equal status, and even listed first in Leviticus 19:3.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 4 December 2012, from Cindi, a daughter of the King of kings and Lord of lords."

Today is Number 4 in the Series on God's Ten Commandments

Commandment Number 4: Exodus 20:8 "Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy."

The fourth of the Ten Commandments, "remember the Sabbath Day," was the special sign of the covenant at Mount Sinai.  With this command God set Israel apart from her neighbors.  Other people had there own various patterns of work and rest, but Israel was to set apart one day in seven for rest.

The word "Sabbath" means "rest."  The day was kept holy by ceasing their labor on that day.  During the Sabbath, the Israelites worshiped God and recalled His deliverance of them from slavery.  The pattern of six days of work, and one for rest was established by God Himself in the Creation, and God's people were to honor Him, by refraining from work on the seventh day.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 27 November 2012, from Cindi, a Daughter of the King of kings and Lord of lords."

Today is Commandment Number 3 from God's Ten Commandments

Commandment Number 3: Exodus 20:7 "You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain."

The word "vain" here reflects the Hebrew term that is written in the absence of a distant vowel sound.  It means "emptiness" "vanity." The name of the Lord, "YAHWEH" occurs 6,828 times in the Old Testament.  This is the personal name of Israel's God.  It is NEVER used of a pagan deity.

God's name conveys His uniqueness; the very essence of who He is.  We are never to speak of the Lord or use His name as if it were unreal or unimportant.  We are to speak of Him with respect, as the One who has absolute priority in our lives.

Use of God's name in vain involved: (1) trivializing His name by regarding it as insignificant (2) trying to us  it to advance evil purposes by coaxing God to violate His character and purposes (much like the priest of false religions often used the name's of their false god's) and (3) using it in worship thoughtlessly.

We as Christians are to Honor, Worship, Glorify, and Praise His Holy Name.  We are to call upon the Name of the Living, True, and Almighty God with Dignity and Respect.  We are to stand in awe of His matchless Love and Grace and Thank Him Day and Night for what He does and will continue to do in our lives.  We need to Sing Songs of Thanksgiving to the Lord God as we stand in His Presence, and some day we all will be singing Songs of Joy all the day as we worship the One True God.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 22 November 2012, from Cindi, a daughter of the King of kings and Lord of lords."

Today is Commandment Number Two of God's Ten Commandments.

Commandment Number Two: Exodus 20:4-6 "You shall make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them.  For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of their fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those that hate me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments."

God is a Spirit, so making any image for us in worship would corrupt our grasp of His nature as YAHWEH.  God's jealously in verse 5, reflects a passionate concern for us to know and worship Him as he really is.

In verse 6, the Lord's mercy would extend even more to the descendants of righteous people. The phrase "third and fourth" with thousands demonstrates God's Mercy is greater than His wrath.  The lingering effects of righteousness will last longer than the lingering effects of wickedness.  If we know and worship God in His Spiritual nature, we protect our descendants from the sins and punishments that will happen wherever men and women fail to know and Love the Lord.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 20 November 2012, from    Cindi, a daughter of the King of kings and Lord of lords."

The Holy Spirit has been leading to do a review of the Ten Commandments and for the next ten writings it will be on the Ten Commandments that were written by the Finger of our Almighty God to Moses.

Today's Bible Verse: Commandment Number One of the Ten Commandments: Exodus 20:3 "You shall have no other god's before Me.'

"No other god's" means that God must be given absolute priority.  The commandment is key to the rest of the Commandments.  Unless we commit ourselves to God, and to God alone, our hearts will be drawn away from the righteousness that the Ten Commandments command and demand.  For ancient Israel "other god's" were pagan idols.  For us today "other god's" may be the pursuit of wealth or pleasure.  If our commitment to the Lord is complete, keeping the rest of the Ten Commandments will follow naturally.

God was not viewed as one God among many, nor the best of the gods.  He was and still is the Only, Living, and True God.  He and He alone, is to be worshiped, obeyed, and adored by the Israelites then, just as we are to worship, obey, and adore Him today as Christians and as believers.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 8 November 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Deuteronomy 6:4-5 "Hear, O Israel, The LORD our God, the Lord is one!  You shall Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength."

Moses repeatedly stressed to the Israelites to respond to God's love with devotion.  In this context, the word "love" may mean "to take ones choice in."  God commanded His people to choose Him with all their hearts, soul's and strength, and in that to deny all other supposed deities.

The Scriptures basic principles are laid out here.  Parents are to love God themselves, and take His words to their hearts.  In verses 6-8, they are told to talk about His words in the living of their daily life, and so make them real to their boys and girls.

In Mark 12:28-30, one of the Jewish scribes listening to Jesus speak, asked him, "Which is first commandment of all?"  Jesus responded to this question with today's Scripture Reading from Deuteronomy and then also added, "and the second, like it, is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'" There is is no other greater commandment than these.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 6 November 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Mark 10:14-16 "But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not forbid them; for such is the kingdom of God.  Assuredly, I say to you, whosoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.  And He took them in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them."

"Wow"  Since I am a child of God, I am looking forward to His taking me in His arms, laying His hands upon me, gazing into His loving eyes, hear Him talk and listening to His laughter and having Him say to me, "Well done My child, and welcome to the kingdom that I have prepared for you."

When the disciples of Jesus "rebuked" parents who tried to bring their children to Jesus, He became "indignant."  Please note that the Pharisees have easy access to Jesus!!  How foolish when we place our emphasis on the important people of this world, and ignore the children, who are much more important to the Lord.

Children exhibit sincerity, eagerness, a trusting attitude, and total dependence on their parents.  Thus child likeness is a fitting comparison for the qualities that we a God's children should have.  Mark, often stresses the strong feelings of Jesus as he did in today's Bible Verses.  "suffer" in verse 14, means "allow."  Every parent knows that no child is perfect.  But Jesus sees in their refreshing openness to new things, their eagerness to learn and follow, a welcome contrast to adult self-dependence and cynicism.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 3 November 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: John 17:4-5 "I have glorified You on the earth.  I have finished the work which you have given to Me.  And now, O Father, glorify Me now together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was."

In verse 4, Jesus says, "I have glorified You."  Jesus here makes known the Father by completing the work that God gave Him to do.  Jesus in verse 5, looked to the Father to restore Him to the glory He had in heaven, before he left.  This is another indication of the pre-existence and deity of Jesus.

The celestial glory that Jesus had from the beginning was temporarily hidden, during his earthly life.  At the ascension of Christ, Jesus was both glorified and transfigured.  Please note the contrast between the post-resurrection appearances of Christ with the post ascension.  In the post resurrection appearances of Jesus, he often concealed His glory to the point that he was snot recognized, such as the disciples at Emmaus Luke 24:16, 31, or by Mary Magdalene in John 20:14, when she thought that He was gardener.

The post-ascension of Jesus, involved His radiant appearance.  The difference between John's meeting with Jesus in John 21, and in Revelation 1, was that of seeing the resurrected body (not glorified and of later seeing the transformed and celestial (glorified) body of Jesus.  Someday we as Christians will be glorified together with Christ, where we will spend all eternity with Him.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 1 November 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Psalm 89:15 "Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound!  They walk, O LORD, in the light of your countenance."

Psalm 89, begins with praise and ends as a psalm of lament.  It celebrates God's covenant with David, and then laments on how David's descendants had not remained faithful to the provisions of the covenant.  Yet even in the face of unfaithfulness, this psalm reaffirms God's faithfulness to His covenant and its ultimate fulfillment in David's greater Son, the Messiah.  This psalm has: (1) Praise to the Lord (2) A celebration of God who established His covenant with David (3) A review of the Covenant with David (4) A consternation at a time of national distress (5) Complaint to the Lord to provoke him to remember His covenant and (6) to restore the fortunes to His people.

As Christians, and as believers, there is a better way.  Whenever we face a problem, and it starts to overshadow our thoughts, we need to humbly approach the Throne Room of Grace, through Jesus Christ, His Son, and bring the matter to our Abba Father.  God loves when we talk with Him about our problems and desires, and to have us look at it in the Light of His Strong and Loving Presence.

When we approach God, we receive some much needed space between us and our worries and concerns, which then will enable us to see from God's perspective. You will be surprised at the results that this will bring, and it will strenghten your Confidence, your Faith, and your Trust in the Lord.

Sometimes, we may even laugh at ourselves for being so serious about something that was so insignificant.  Jesus told us that while we lived here upon this our temporary home, in these our temporary bodies, that we would face trials and tribulations, and that He would help us through them for He would Never Leave nor Forsake us if we but come to Him for help.

We need to ALWAYS remember that Jesus is our BEST FRIEND and our ADVOCATE before God the Father.  What a victory is to know that Jesus is the best DEFENSE attorney in the entire universe and that He is the same Yesterday, Today, and Forever.  May we each day Praise God from Whom all Blessings Flow.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 27 October 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Psalm 29:1-2 'Give unto the LORD, O you mighty ones, Give unto the LORD glory and strength.  Give unto the LORD the glory due His name, Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness."

A thunder storm is viewed in this psalm, not as a phenomenon of impersonal nature, but as an act of divine intervention arousing David's praise and sparkling the realization that ts the Lord who is enthroned in nature.  So great is our God to bless David then, just as He does us even today.

We as believers are to worship God in the beauty of holiness.  All true beauty reflects the power of the "GREAT I AM."  God is continually working His way in us.  God is the divine artist creating loveliness within each of us.

The work of the Holy Spirit, is to clear out the debris and clutter in our lives, and make room for Him to take total control and total possession of our lives.  We as believers need to work with God in this effort, by being willing to "let go of anything and everything" that God chooses to take away.  Our Abba Father knows what we need, and He has promised to provide all of that "abundantly."  Our sense of security must not rest in our materialist possessions or "things going our way."

The Holy Spirit is training us to depend on God alone, and always finding fulfillment in His Presence.  This my Brothers and Sisters in Christ means, "being justified with much or little and accepting either as God's Will for the moment."  Instead of grasping and controlling, we need to learn to release and receive, and to cultivate our spiritual ground by Trusting our Abba Father in EVERY situation.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 25 October 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Psalm 15:1 "LORD who may abide in Your tabernacle?  Who may dwell in Your holy hill?"

Psalm 15, is titled, "The Character of Those Who May Dwell with the Lord."  It is a wisdom psalm but its principle focus is on the proper approach to the worship of God.  Although all of the psalms were used in the worship of God, this poem, is a worship poem, because of its special focus on the subject of worship.

The psalm asks the question, "Who is righteous enough to approach God?"  Certainly no one is except Jesus, the Messiah.  But there have always been those who stand before God forgiven sinners, whose righteousness comes as gift from God.  We who are in Christ, learn to come boldly into the Presence of the Father, because we come on the authority of His Son (Hebrews 4:16).

Jesus makes us feel at home in the Presence of the Father.  David, who wrote this poem, has it written in a question and answer format: (1) the question of who may approach God (verse1) (2) the response (verses 2-4) (3) The Blessing (verse 5).  The promise of God for the righteous is for this life and the life to come.  The Lord is a righteous persons sure foundation.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 23 October 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Exodus 3:5 "Then He said, "Do not draw near this place.  Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground."

We see here in this verse, that God appears to Moses in a burning bush, to announce to the new reluctant hero, that he is to go to Pharaoh, "to bring My people out of the land of Egypt."  The flame of fire was an extraordinary sight, particularly since the bush was not consumed by the fire.  God tells Moses to take of his shoes, for the place whee Moses was standing was Holy ground and was set apart by His divine Presence.  Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look upon God.

We as Christians need to listen to God even when we aer listening to other people.  We need the help of the Holy Spirit to respond appropriately.  Ask the Holy Spirit to think through you, live through you, and love through you.

God's own Presence is alive within us through the indwelling power and Presence of the Holy Spirit.  If we respond to others needs through their own unaided thought processes, we offer them dry crumbs.  When the Holy Spirit empowers our listening and speaking, the river of Living Water flows through us to those that are around us.

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 11 October 2012"

Today's Bible Verses: James 4:1-17
Today's Key Verse: James 4:6 "But he gives more grace.  Therefore He says: "God resists the proud.  But gives grace to the humble."

James in this chapter looks at more problems for the person committed to living a life of faith.  Faith's lifestyle demands that the believer submit to God, despite the presence of warped desires stimulated by the flesh, the world, and Satan.  The conflicts that are within us, is between our sinful desires for pleasure and the desire for God's Will, an attitude that the Holy Spirit has placed within us.  The source of conflict among believers is often material.  James her attributes fighting, murder, and war to materialism.  John also in 1st John 2:15-16 also warmed believers of lusting after "the things of the world."

We as believers also struggle against the temptation to usurp (to take or assume) God's place as a judge, rather than accept our rightful place as mere citizen's in God's kingdom.  Envy in verses 4 and 5 is God's longing for our love.  God is truly disturbed when we abandon our friendship with Him and chase after the things of the world, and He is disturbed for our sake.  But how does God respond?  Not with punishment, but with "more Grace" to lead us back into His arms.  Only our pride can keep us from responding to His Grace.  We as Christians need to turn our backs on the world and experience the UNENDING Blessings and Love of our Almighty God.

However powerful Satan is, if we set ourselves against him, he is unable to prevail against us, and he then will flee, for he, as will as his demons, all tremble and bow at the Name of Jesus (Praise God).

Verses 7-10 contain 10 sharp commands that call for immediate action.  In essence they tell us how to humble ourselves before God, so that we can experience His Grace.  The 10 commands are (1) and (2) submit and resist in verse 7, (3) (4) (5) come near, wash and purify in verse 8, (6) (7) (8) and (9) grieve, mourn, wail, change in verse 9, and (10) humble in verse 10.  Together these verses picture a complex reversal of the attitudes that shape the spiritually immature and unfaithful.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 10 October 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: John 10:27-30 "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give then eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of my hand.  My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to pluck them from my Father's hands.  I and My Father are One."

Wow!!! What a statement by our Lord confirming His deity that He and the Father are One.  In these verses, Jesus describes the three characteristics of His sheep: (1) They hear His voice (2) He knows them and (3) They follow Him.  The following of sheep is a metaphor for "FAITH."  Other metaphors for Faith in John's Gospel include: (1) drinking water (John 4:14), (2) eating bread (John 6:50-51), and (3) eating flesh and drinking blood (John 6:54).  Our eternal life as Christians can NEVER be taken away.  The Father's hand is more powerful than any enemy.

Verse 28, teaches us as Christians, that through God, we have eternal security in which God is able to complete the good work of eternal life, that He has began in every believer.  The eternal security of the believer is guaranteed, by the person and work of God.  He is true and just, and cannot deny Himself.  Therefore anyone who has eternal life, has it forever (Amen).  God promises that no one or no thing can ever separate us from His love (Romans 8:38-39).

The Christian is saved and secured by "Faith" but in love and gratitude to Christ will seek to faithfully serve Him.  In verse 30, Said, "I and the Father are One."  Jesus is God.  This was a clear claim of Jesus of His deity.   The Jewish religious leaders understood exactly what He meant, and they were ready to stone Him for "blasphemy."

Are you like me, longing for the second Coming of Christ?  Are you like me, saying alone with John in Revelation 22:20, "Even so, come, Lord Jesus?"  If you are reading this writing, and you are not saved, you can be saved.  The Gift of Eternal Life and the Free Gift of Salvation comes through Jesus Christ and His shed blood.  All that you have to do is confess your sins to God. and Him Him to come into your life and save you, we are told in God's word that, "He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1st John 1:9).    God's Words says that if you do this, that Jesus will send to you the Indwelling Power of the Holy Spirit to guide you and teach you as you pick up your Cross and follow in the footsteps of Jesus.  You will also and most importantly, become a son or daughter of the King of kings, and Lord of lords, where you will spend all eternity basking in God's Love, Mercy, and Grace.

Gods Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 4 October 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: 1 Corinthians 11:24-25 "And when He had given thanks, he broke it, and said, "take eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: do this in remembrance of Me."  In the same matter, He took the cup after supper saying, "This cup is the New Covenant in my blood, this do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me."

The Lord's Supper is the distinctive symbol of Christian worship instituted by the Lord on the eve of His death, being the spiritual partaking of bread and the fruits of the vine.  These elements are presented as a thankful expression of the sacrifice of Jesus, taken in fellowship with Him and one another.  It is a memorial conducted in remembrance of atoning death of Christ and the anticipation of His return to earth.

The two symbols of this ordinance are the bread, representing the broken body of Christ, and the cup, representing His shed blood.  Christians are divided as to whether the table should be "opened" or "closed."  The chief argument supporting open communion is that is the Lord's Supper, not a ceremony of a particular religious denomination. Those who believe that the table should be restricted, argue that the church should not allow a person to eat unworthily or bring judgment on his own head.

The pastor before the start of the Lord's Supper reminds everyone of the need for self-evaluation.  After this instruction, the pastor then leaves the decision to participate up to the individual.  The Lord's Supper is a unique, holy occasion for the gathered church to sense the participation of every member with Jesus in His death.

In the Lord's Supper, we are present at the Cross and testify to it.  As Christians, we should approach the Lord's Supper with awe and proper self examination with his or her own spiritual progress, and attitudes, before partaking of the Lord's Supper.

Today's Biblical Truth: "Through our union with Christ, our bodies have become His, temples in which the Holy Spirit dwells.  Whatever we do or say in these temporary bodies, must always honor Christ, for He is present in us."

Gods Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 2 October 2012"

Today's Bible Verses:

Psalm 48:9 "We have thought, O God on your loving kindness, In the midst of Your temple."
Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart."

These two verses are telling us a Christians, that if we delight in serving God, and spend time "soaking" in His Presence, we will be energized and enlightened.  Through prayer and supplication, we can transfer our heavy burdens to God's Strong and Able Shoulders.  By focusing on Jesus, we gain His perspective on our lives.

Quite Time with God, is where you can spend time alone with Him, and is very essential for unscrambling our thoughts and smoothing out the day that we embark on daily.  We need to be willing to "fight" for this precious Quite Time with God.  Opposition will come in many forms: our desire to linger in bed, Satan's determination to distract us from our "Quite Time" with God; the pressure of family and friends, and our own inner circle wanting us to spend more time with them, and less time with God.

We as Christians, need to grow and have a strong desire to please God above all else. By doing so we will gain strength to resist the opponents who seek to have focus not on God, but on the things of this world.  We as Christians, need to delight ourselves in God, for God should, and always be, the deepest desire of our hearts, in every situation and activity in our lives.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greeting in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 27 September 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Luke 12:22-27 "Then He said to His disciples, "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body. what you put on.  Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.  Consider the raven for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them.  Of how much value are you than the birds?  And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?  If you then are not able to do the least, why are you anxious for the rest?  Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these."

Wow!!! Here Jesus is telling us NOT TO WORRY, that He will provide and take care of us, His children. Jesus in these verses extends His teachings from abundant possessions (wealth) to necessities.

We are physical beings in a material universe, and must have food, water, and shelter to survive. Jesus challenges us not to be anxious even about necessities and gives two vital insight: (1) We need not be anxious because we have an Abba Father who care for us and (2) we must not be anxious because that would shift the focus of our attention from God, to the things of this world.

Anxiety is a result of envisioning the future without God.  The best defense against worry is staying in communication with our Heavenly Father.  When we turn our thoughts  toward Him, we can think more positively. Remember to listen, as well as speak, making your thoughts a dialogue with God.

If you must consider upcoming events follow these rules: (1) Do not linger in the future, because anxieties sprout up like mushrooms when you wander there (2) Remember the promise of God's continual Presence and include God in any imagery that comes into your mind.

Mental discipline does not come easy for us, because we are accustomed of being in control and trying to work it out for ourselves and not giving it to God.  However, the reality of God's Presence with us now and forever outshines and out weights anything that we can ever do on our own.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 26 September 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path."

The words trust in the Lord, echo the command of Deuteronomy 6:5, "to love God with all our being."  The verb "trust" in verse 5,  is complemented by the word "lean."  Trusting in God is a conscious dependance on God, much like leaning on a tree for support.

Three commands are given in verse 6: (1) TRUST meaning, "rely on, depend on" (2) LEAN NOT meaning, "do not depend on your own native instints" and (3) ACKNOWLEDGE HIM meaning "have fellowship and intimacy with God in all of your life."  The result of such devotion is that God will make paths straight for you.

The basic widom issues touched on here in theses verse, and in the Book of Proverbs, is to have a personal relationship with God.  Only if we know Him, and respond to Him, will the message that is presented in the Book of Proverbs produce fruit.

We as Christians need to trust the Lord completely, and to "ALWAYS" acknowledge Him in everything that we do. We are to rely on God's Word rather than on our own human wisdom.  We are to honor God, by giving generously, and we are to remember when hard times come, that God loves us still, and we will see, that we have a Father who loves us deeply.

The idea here in reinforced by the command to "acknowledge Him", which means to "know that He is God," so that He can set us on the right path to righteous living.  In doing so, we a Christians will find out that time and time again that God will smooth out our paths as we walk in the footsteps of Jesus.

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 13 September 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Ephesians 3:3-5 "How that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written, by which you have read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets."

The word "mystery" in the New Testament identifies truth that was previously hidden from common knowledge, but is now revealed, discernible only by the aid of the Holy Spirit.  (Romans 16:25-26; 1 Corinthians 2:7-10).

There are seven aspects of the "mystery" concerning that period known as "the times of the Gentiles."  They are (1) mystery of the incarnation (1 Corinthians 2:7; Colossians 2:2,9) (2) the mystery of the gospel (Ephesians 6:19) (3) the mystery of Christ and His church (Ephesians 5:32) (4) the mystery of the indwelling of Christ (Colossians 1:27) (5) the mystery of Jews and Gentiles in one body (Ephesians 3:1-12) (6) the mystery of the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 13) and (7) the mystery of the Rapture (1 Corinthians 15:51).

Because the mystery of the gospel was not revealed clearly until the church was established, Satan and his demonic servants were the unwilling servants of God.  Had they understood what they were doing, they would not have crucified Christ (1 Corinthians 2:8).  We as Christians however, who do understand the plan of God for this world, should be eager to do his or her part in spreading the Good News of the FREE GIFT of SALVATION that comes through the shed blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In verse 5, the word "holy" is used in the sense of being set apart, not as an implication of moral superiority.  The apostles and prophets were set apart by God to convey the Spirit's new revelation.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 11 September 2012"

Before I begin I would like for us all to take a few moments in silence prayer for all those who lost their lives on the World Trade Center attack 11 years ago in New York City.  May God' Love, Strength, and Peace uplift all who were killed and injured in that attack.  Pray always for the men and Women who serve in our Armed Forces at home and around the world.

Today's Bible Verse: Psalm 5:1-3 "Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.  Give heed to the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for to You  I will pray.  My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD, In the morning I will direct it to you, And I will look up."

"Give ear" in verse 1, is the language of a person, who believes from experience, that God has forgotten his plight.  The sufferer calls on the Lord to listen, even though the Lord has been continually listening and caring.  "Meditation" here refers to incessant groaning. David  often addressed God in heaven as "My King" the ruler over all things. At times the psalms focuses on prayer in the morning as in verse 3, which is a commendable habit, that helps a person to dedicate all the activities of the day, to the glory of God.

We as Christians, need to let God show us His way for us every day.  The Holy Spirit will guide us continually, so that we can relax, and enjoy God's Presence, in the present.  Living well is both a discipline, and an art, as we concentrate on staying close to God, the divine artist.

We need to discipline our thoughts to Trust God, as He works His way into our lives.  We need to come to God in prayer about everything, and then leave the outcome of our prayers to God.

We as believers should not fear the Will of God, for through it, God will accomplish what is "best for us."  Take a deep breath and dive into the depths of absolute trust in God, His word and His NEVER CHANGING promises, for in that Trust, God will wrap us up in His everlasting arms.

Today's Biblical Truth: "Only when we walk in the Light shed by the Holy Spirit through the Word of God, can we see things for what they really are, and respond appropriately."

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 4 August 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: James 1:2-5 "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall in various trails, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.  If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

Trails are of outward circumstances, conflicts, suffering, and troubles that are encountered by "ALL" believers.  Trials are not pleasant and may be extremely grievous, but believers are to consider them as opportunities for rejoicing.  Troubles and difficulties are a tool which refines and purifies our Faith, producing patience and endurance.

The term "testing of your faith" means "tested" or "approved."  The aim of testing is not to destroy or afflict, but to "purge" and "refine."  Patience transcends the idea of bearing affliction; it includes the idea of standing fast under pressure, with a staying power that turns trials and tribulations into opportunities of Praise.  If a believer endures a trial, he or she will be perfect, meaning "have reached the end" and they are complete, meaning, "that they are whole."

The wisdom God is not necessarily information on how to get out of trouble, but rather insight on how to learn from ones difficulties.  The Wisdom of God begins with a genuine reverence for the Almighty, and a steadfast confidence that God controls all circumstances, guiding them to "His Good Purpose."

The sacrifice of Thanksgiving rings golden bells of JOY throughout the heavenly realm.  On earth also, our patient suffering sends out ripples of Good tiding in ever widening circles.  When suffering strikes, remember that God is sovereign, and that He can bring GOOD out of EVERYTHING.

Do not try to run from pain or hide your problems, instead, accept adversity in the Name of Jesus, offering it up to God for His purposes.  Your suffering gains meaning and draws you closer to God.  Joy emerges from the ashes of adversity through your Trust and Thankfulness in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

The summary of these verses is this: Jesus tells us to suffer for Him in His Name.  All suffering has meaning in His kingdom.  Pain and problems are continued opportunities to demonstrate your Trust in God.  Bearing your circumstances bravely, and even thanking Him for them is one of the highest forms of Praise.

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 1 September 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: John 9:1-5 "Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blinded from birth.  And His disciples asked Him say, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" Jesus answered,"neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.. I must work the works of Him who sent me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am n the world, I am the Light of the world."

Popular theology in the time of Jesus, was that sickness was a punishment for sin.  In the case of a person born blind, this posed a theological riddle.  "Was the man blind for the sins he would commit? or were the sins of the parents being punished in the son?" The answer of Jesus is important: "Neither sinned."  God had another purpose in the man's disability.

In Scripture, sickness and sin are related, in that Adam introduced both into the universe.  Individual sickness is not thus a punishment for sins, though its is a witness to humanity's sinful condition.  We should not wail, "Why is God punishing me?" when we, or or loved ones suffer.

There is, however, and even more positive message here in these verses.  God did intend to redeem the blind man's suffering by using it for His Glory. The healing of this blind man by Jesus, reminds us that often in expected ways, our suffering can be used by God for His good.  The disciples in these verses weren't moved by compassion but by a theological curiosity.  As Christians our first concern should be that of Jesus, for the sufferer.  We need to meet peoples needs and wrestle with the theological questions afterward.

Today's Biblical Truth: "We can see spiritual truth, if we are willing to accept it."

Gods Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 30 August 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Psalm 62:5-8 "My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is for Him.  He is my rock and my salvation; he is my defense; I shall not be moved.  In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God.  Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is refuge for us."

Thoughts of confidence and trust predominate in Psalm 62, making this psalm a "psalm of confidence."  The expressions of trust found in verses 1,2 and 5 and 7 are rich with figures that picture the absolute stability of being found in God.  At least five nouns describe God's protection: Rock, Salvation, Defense (verse 2), glory and refuge (verse 7).  The lament verses of 3 and 4 concerns his enemies.  However, from his confident position, he is able to exhort others to trust in the Lord (verses 8-12).

Jesus is the culmination of our hopes and desires.  He is the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last: who is, and was, and is to come.  Before we knew God, we expressed our longings for Him in hurtful ways.  We were vulnerable to the evil around us in the world.  But God's Presence, shields us, enfolding us in His Loving Arms.

God has lifted us out of darkness and into His Marvelous Light.  Jesus will bring many pleasures into our lives, so we as Christians need to receive God's Blessings with open hands, and enjoy His Good Gifts and cling to them.  Always turn your attention to the "Giver" of all "Good Things" and rest in the knowledge that we are complete in Him.

The one thing, that we as Christians need, is the one thing that we will never lose: His Presence that is always with us.  He has promised us that He will NEVER LEAVE nor FORSAKE us, and that we are sons and daughters of the King of kings and Lord of lords.  Today in this my day of sorrow I am clinging to that promise of His being with me when the sea of my life is smooth and especially when the storms of my life fall upon in me.  How wonderful it is to know that I can jump into my Savior's Arms and feel His Loving, Strong and Protective Arms around me.

Have you been to Jesus for this Free Gift of Salvation?  Have you felt His Presence when you are down and need him the most?  Do you feel His Strength and His Arms around you as you have trials and storms in your life?  If not, why not come to Jesus TODAY, and be assured that when you are sinking in the storms of life, and you call out to Him, He is there to pull you up, and to Strengthen and Comfort you.  If you will open your hearts door, to the calling of the Holy Spirit, you will be assured that when you live this our temporary home and you stand before Almighty God, and He opens the Book of Life to your name, it will say, "WASHED IN THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB" and he will welcome you into the kingdom that He has prepared for us, who are His children, where we will spend all eternity, basking in His Love and Light.

Today's Biblical Truth: To lift our hands to the Lord, expresses dependence on Him, coupled with an acknowledgement of His Power, Wonder and Majesty."
