God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 31 July 2012"

"Today's Bible Verse: Hebrew 11:6 "But, without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God, must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

The word "come" is used repeatably in Hebrews to refer to the privilege of drawing near to God (Hebrews 4:16; 7:25; 10:1, 22).  Here the writer of Hebrews explains that faith is mandatory for those who do good works in the Holy Spirit's power.

Stripped down to its basics, FAITH is confidence that God exists, and the conviction that He "rewards those who earnestly seek Him."  Only those who know God not only as a power, but also as a Person, will dare truly to seek Him.

FAITH is no guarantee of earthy success, though FAITH has won great victories.  What acts of FAITH does guarantee, is that we will please God, and ultimately be rewarded by Him.  How easy is is to wonder at the Bible's Hero's of the Faith, especially when we realize they had relatively little knowledge of God, as we have today.  How motivated we who know Jesus should be, to complete what they have began, and live a life of FAITH today.  FAITH obeys God and keeps on obeying.  FAITH transforms our values, and shapes our choices.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how thankful we are for Your Loving Care and Grace.  May we each and every hour of every day, diligently seek Thee and Your Will for our life's.  Strengthen our Faith in You, to know that You are always there for us, and Thank You for the promise that You never leave nor forsake us.  Help us today to keep our eyes, minds, hearts, and thoughts focused upon You, and to keep our feet on the straight and narrow path that leads to Your Throne.  We ask this in the Name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, and Thanking You for Answered Prayer.

Today's Biblical Truth: "The death of Christ fulfilled the penalty for our sins."

Gods Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 26 July 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Today's Bible verse is not so much a definition of what faith is, as it is a description of what faith does (Hebrew 11:6).  Two truths concerning its activity are stated here.  First, faith provides substance.  This word normally has the meaning of "assurance" in the New Testament and this seems to be the best sense here.  Second, faith provides evidence.  It is the evidence in the sense of proof that results in conviction.

The difference between "assurance" and "evidence" would be minimal were it not for the phrase qualifying each: "Of things hoped for" and "of things not seen."  The first involves future hope; the second involves present realities that are unseen. The first involves the hope of a resurrection, the return of Christ, and the glorification of the saints.  The second involves unseen realities, such as the forgiveness of sin through the sacrifice of Jesus and the present intercession of Jesus in heaven on behalf of the believer.

Hope is faith relating to the future, conviction is faith relating to the present.  While the object of faith by its very nature cannot be seen, Paul will go on to remind us that its presence has a vital impact on our lives and character.  Real faith produces startling results.

Today's Biblical Truth: "Faith understands that the invisible God created the vast universe."

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, may we as Christians come before You in faith, knowing that You are there, and that You listen to us as we come before Thee in the Throne Room of Grace and lay down our Prayers and Supplication before Thee.  May our faith be real and strong so that You can do mighty works through us.  May our faith be as strong as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, where we know that no matter what happens to us, that You are always there by our side.  May our faith and trust be strong in Thee as we submit our wills to Thee.  May we be faithful and obedient in serving You, regardless of the cost.  We ask this in the Name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, Thanking You for answered prayer.   Amen

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 24 July 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: 2 Corinthians 6:17-18 "Therefore, Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord.  Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you." I will be a Father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, Says the LORD Almighty."

We as Christians should live a holy life that reflects the nature of God, who has saved us (1 Peter 1:16).  We should separate ourselves from actions, influences, or people that will contaminate him or her.  A Christian should apply the Biblical principles of separation and avoid what is (1) against a Biblical standard of purity (1 Corinthians 6:17-20) (2) against a Biblical prohibition (Exodus 20:3-17) (3) and association that will harm (4) harmful to the body (1 Corinthians 6:19) (5) harmful to a weaker brother (1 Corinthians 8:8-13) (6) offensive to the conscience (James 4:17) and (7) failure to follow the examples of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57).

We see here, that the Corinthian Church, was an immature congregation, with problems in many areas, but victory then, as it is still today was and is available through Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57).  A correct relationship with the Holy Spirit will make a believer "holy" and "spiritual."  We as Christians are to maintain integrity in the world just as Christ did.  Since the Holy Spirit now lives within the hearts of Christians, we are to keep our bodies pure and clean, because that is the dwelling place of God.

Today's Biblical Truth: "Jesus never did do anything wrong.  Yet He loved us so much He died for our sins, so that we might be declared righteous, that is to say justified."

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how wonderful is to have a loving Heavenly Father, who listens to us and who is ready to help and deliver us from our trials and the storms of our life.  May we as your representatives and ambassadors, go out and spread the Good News of the Free Gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ, to those around us.  Thank You Jesus for taking our sins and casting them into the depth of the sea, and when we stand before You, and the Book of Life is opened to our name, it will say, "Washed By The Blood of the Lamb."   Amen

Gods Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 19 July 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Romans 8:13 "For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put death the deeds of the body, you will live."

Death here does not mean physical death, because those who live according to the spirit also die physically.  It refers to the experience of those who live their lives apart from God.  By walking according to the Spirit, by being spiritually minded, the believer can put to death sinful deeds and live for God.

The Scriptures use the word flesh in five ways.  It nay refer to (1) the body or physical being (2) the old nature or sin nature (3) the skin (4) man's immaterial nature or (5) the whole being of man.  Paul uses the term "flesh" in today's verse.   Flesh itself is not evil, yet Paul uses it to represent humanity's evil nature, which cannot please God.  Christians should glorify God in their physical bodies (flesh) as well as their spirits, since both belong to God.

How can we know that what Paul is speaking about is real?  The Spirit's presence in the Christian is unmistakable!  We sense His promptings and respond.  We find a new direction in our relationship with God.  Deep down, our changed lives and sense of closeness to god make it absolutely clear--we are God's children.  If you do not feel it, believe it.  If you believe it, and then act upon it, you will surely feel it.  Catherine Martin in her book, "A Woman's Walk In Grace," says it this way, "God's Grace: BELIEVE IT, RECEIVE IT, LIVE IT."

The Spirits work with us is present tense salvation.  We are being saved from the power of sin and becoming righteous.  When Jesus comes, we will be saved completely, liberated from the last vestiges of sin which clings so persistently to us.

Today's Biblical Truth: Those led by the Spirit are God's children, and the Sovereign Lord, in turn, is their Father."

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 17 July 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Ephesians 6:12 "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."

Several activities in the Biblw may involve demons.  Sometimes they cause physical disease or mental suffering.  However, not all mental disorders are demonic in orgin.  Demons also tempt people into immoral practices.  They originate and propagate false doctrines taught by heretical religious groups (1 Timothy 4:1).  The Bible also teaches that some peopl were possessed by demons (Mark 1:23).  Although demons are committed to do evil, God will use them to accomplish His plan during the end age (Revelations 16:14).

Demons are also objects of worship in various occult practices forbidden by God.  These include divination (an illegitimate means of determining the will of God), necromancy (efforts to communicate with and interrogate the dead), magic (using formulas and incantations), sorcery (perhaps the non medical use of drugs, witchcraft, and astrology (Deuteronomy 18:10-12).

In the Book of Ephesians, we are told that when the Ephesian Christians were "dabbling" in the occult and they repented, there was a great revival in that place.  No Christian can ever justify his or her participation in demonic activities.  As Christians our real battle is not against cultists, false religions, atheists, agnostics or pseudo-Christians, but with demonic beings working through them.

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, as we dwell upon this earth and battle against our spiritual foes, may we put on the whole armor of God.  May we put on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, our feet with the gospel of peace, the shield of faith to quench all the fiery darts of Satan and his demons, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.  May we like a sponge soak up Your Words, so that we can hid Your Words in our hearts so that when we are attacked by Satan, we may say as Jesus, "IT IS WRITTEN," and Satan will have to flee as he did with Jesus, because Satan and the demons cannot stand up and tremble in fear at the Name of Jesus.      Amen

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 12 July 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: "Psalm 95:1-3 "Oh come, let us sing to the LORD!  Let us shout joyfully, O the rock of our salvation.  Let us come before His Presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.  For the LORD is the great God, and great King above all gods."

This psalm promises God's Presence, and it invites us into His Presence!!  As we worship, He reminds us of His forgiveness and His love for us.  As we worship, He works His Word more deeply into our hearts, so it can strengthen and encourage us.  As we worship, He ensures that we are not alone.  He's present with us, and we as Christians belong to His family

The verses of the this psalm also place particular emphasis on the worship of God with energy and delight.  The psalmist calls us as Christians today, to acknowledge the LORD as the "Great God" above all others and to worship Him.  We are to worship by hearing and responding obediently to His voice.  Not to respond is to lose our opportunity for rest.

Today's Biblical Truth: "through the blood of Jesus, and the Mercy and Grace of god we have our Salvation."

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how we Thank You, Abba Father, for the layer upon layer of blessings that You provide for all those who have accepted you as Lord and Savior.  Thank You for inviting us into Your Presence, through the shed blood of You Son Jesus Christ, and may we each day, feel Your Loving Arms around us, and may we be still and listen to what You have to say to us.  We ask this in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Thanking You for answered Prayer.     Amen

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 10 July 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: 1 John 2:15-17 " Do not love the world nor the things in the world, the love of the Father is not in them.  For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lush of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not of the Father, but is of the world.  And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the Will of God abides forever."

Do not love the world in verse 15, can be worded to say, "STOP LOVING THE WORLD."
John is telling us that by loving the world, we are acting in a way inconsistent in regard to our relationship with Christ.  The world is a morally evil system opposed to all that God is and holds dear.  In this sense, the world is the static system opposing Christ's kingdom on this earth.

Though all people are tempted differently according to their individual weakness, temptations follow patterns.  They appeal to three fundamental areas of our life's (1) the lust of the flesh (physical desires) (2) the lust of the eyes (personal desires) and (3) the pride of life (self interest).

In Genesis 3:6, we will read that when Satan caused the fall of the human race, he appealed to each of these areas of weakness.  He also appealed to them when he tempted Christ in Matthew 4:1-11.  But Jesus defied Satan's temptations by saying "IT IS WRITTEN" thus relying on Scripture to defeat Satan's temptations and with the defeat "the devil left Him..."  We as Christians today, as we are being assaulted from all fronts, should also use the example that the Lord gave us, and depend on Scripture to defeat temptation.

Given the nature of the "world" in the New Testament, worldliness is not a matter of some list of do's and don'ts.  It is adopting the perspective (cravings), the values (lust of the eyes), and attitudes (the boosting status) of man's society rather than the perspective, values, and attitudes of God.  In verse 17, John is telling us to be consumed with this life is to be unprepared for the next.  What a tragedy to invest all our resources in what will not last.

Today's Biblical Truth: "Eternal Life speaks of both the quality of life in the present, a life filled with the joy of God, and the promise of a future life of living with Christ through all eternity."

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 8 July 2012"

Today's Bible Verses: Luke 21:5-38

"The Do's and Don'ts of Looking Toward History's End," might be a good title for Luke's report of of the teaching of Jesus on end times in today's Bible Verses.  Jesus in these verses tells us:

(1) Don't be deceived (verse 8): The return of Jesus won;t be a secret.  There is no need for us to set dates.
(2) Don't be frightened (verses 9-11): Human history will be filled with wars and disasters.  How good it is to know, that god will look after His own.
(3) Don't worry about yourself when persecuted, but witness to your persecutors (verses 12-16):
After all, the people in real trouble are the one's who oppress God's Saints!!!  Let the Holy Spirit fill your mouth with words about Jesus and fill your heart with love for your enemies.
(4) Don't give up when everyone seems to turn against you (verses 17-19): Stand firm on the foundation of your faith in Jesus.  Others can hate you, but they can't do any lasting harm to you.
(5) Do flee Jerusalem when it is besieged (verses 20-24): This advice applied both to the Jews then living and to the lost who will dwell in the city as history's end draws near.
(6) Do take heart when the universe itself shows a massive destabilization (verses 25-31): This is a sign that Jesus Christ is soon to appear and is cause for believers to rejoice rather than fear.
(7) Do exalt in the certainty that God's Word is trustworthy, whatever life may throw at you (verses 32-33): This reminder is for the last generation, but we as Christians can certainly take heart from it from our own hard times today.
(8) Do be watchful, pray, and preserve and so earn the approval of the Son of Man (verses 34-36): Life here on this our temporary home has it pressures, and many of them are intense.  But we as Christians need to keep our eyes focused on Jesus, and let NOTHING DISTRACT us from serving Him.

Today's Biblical Truth: "The cosmic signs and earthly chaos are indications that the decisive and consummate rule of God is approaching."

Gods Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 5 July 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: Romans 8:14-17 "For many are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.  For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by who cry out, Abba Father.  The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together."

In verse 16, the witness of the Spirit is the inner assurance of God's truth.  One of the conditions of this inner conviction concerning the things of God is obedience to His known will.  God uses the Holy Spirit to convict us of truth that cannot be understood other than through divine help.

In Matthew 16:17, Peter received the spiritual insight from God as to who Jesus really was.  This knowledge does not mean that Peter had nothing to learn, because we read in Matthew 16:23, that Jesus rebuked Peter for his lack of spiritual insight.

On July 11th 2010, at 11:55 pm, I experienced the unmistakable presence of the Holy Spirit in my life the moment that I accepted Jesus Christ into my life, and as I approach my second year of my spiritual rebirth I am in awe of God, and the life changing transformation that He has done in my life, as I now serve the King of kings and Lord of lords of this vast universe, and not the god of this world.

We as Christians need to sense His promptings and respond to the call of the Holy spirit.  I have found a new freedom in my relationship with God.  Deep down, my life changed and my sense of closeness to God make it absolutely clear that I am a daughter of the King of kings, and Lord of lords (Wow!!!!).

If you are reading this and you feel it, then BELIEVE IT.  If you BELIEVE IT, and ACT on it, you will surely FEEL IT, for Jesus, the second that you accept Him into your life, sends to you the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit, who will GUIDE YOU, TEACH YOU, and COUNSEL YOU.

Today's Biblical Truth: "When believers cry out to the Father in prayer, the Holy Spirit intercedes with them and for them."

Abba Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, how we Thank You for the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit, the second that we believed and trusted in you.  What a transformation it is to have the Holy Spirit's guidance in our lives and to lay up treasures in heaven and be not of this world.  May we seek the Presence of God, and be the branches that we might bear much fruit for the Kingdom of God.  We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Thanking You for answered Prayer.     Amen

God's Words of Wisdom

"Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 3 July 2012"

Today's Bible Verse: John 16:33 "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace.  In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

In this verse our Lord simply states a fact of life...Life on our fallen planet often includes trials, traumas, and turmoils.  Some days, weeks, or even years, toils and troubles seem to double down on us.  Fraying relationships, unraveling finances, workplace worries.  Double toil and double trouble seem to be our lot in life.  If Jesus confirms that we will have tribulations, what hope can we have?

The hope that we need comes from the Lord's second promise, the promise that comes from the end of this verse: "...be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

From our Lord's Cross and EMPTY TOMB flows ample proof that those who cling to Christ in FAITH simply CANNOT LOSE!  Victory belongs to us, in life and in death alike.  TRUSTING that Jesus has OVERCOME and He shares His VICTORY with us, makes EVERY PROMISE of our Savior that much more comforting, even His PROMISES of TROUBLE and TRIALS.

Jesus who is our BEST FRIEND, knows how tough life's problems can get.  HE UNDERSTANDS and EMPATHIZES with us, and yet His LOVE and POWER go much further, and He gives us the VICTORY through Him.

Today's Biblical Truth: "When we place our trust in Jesus, He can give us Peace in the midst of pressure."

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, Lord You are indeed my Savior and my Best Friend, and You have overcome the world.  Teach me Holy Spirit to "take heart" right now as I face the trials and troubles before me, so that in doing so, I might bring Great Glory and Honor to Your Name which is above every Name.  I ask this in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, thanking You for answered Prayer.     Amen
