Weekday God's Words of Wisdom from the Bible for Wednesday 9 November 2011

"Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for 9 November 2011"

Today's Bible Verse: Psalm 139:23-24 "Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting."

The words of these verses are what every Christian should ask God for.  We need to ask God to examine our thoughts and purge us of all sins that our fellowship with God will not be interrupted and that we might enter into eternal life.

We as Christians in order to live in God's Presence consistently, must expose and expel our rebellious tendencies.  When something interferes with our plans and desires we tend to resent the interference.  We shouldn't push those unpleasant feelings down; instead let them come to the surface where we can deal with them

Ask the Holy Spirit to increase your awareness of resentful feelings.  Bring them boldly into the light of God's Presence, so that He can free you from them.  The ultimate solution to rebellious tendencies is submission To God's authority over all your being.  Intellectually we rejoice in God's sovereignty, without which the world would be terrifying place, but when God's Sovereign Will comes into our little domain of control, we often react with telltale resentment.

Our best response to losses of thwarted hope is praise.  As the song says: "The Lord gives and the Lord takes away, Blessed be the Name of the Lord."  We need to remember that all good things, our possessions. our families and friends, our health and abilities, and our time are gifts from God.

Instead of feeling entitled to these blessings, we as His Creation need to respond with gratitude and thanksgiving to our All Loving, All Merciful, All Caring, Almighty God.

In closing I recently saw a Church Billboard sign that read, "God answers Prayers, not advice"  That my Brothers and Sisters in Christ is true,to the point, and says it all.

Today's Hymn: "This Is My Father's World"

This is my Father's world, And to my listening ears
All nature sings, and round me rings
The music of the spheres
This is my Father's world, I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and tress, Of skies and seas
His hand the wonders wrought
This is my Father's world, The birds their carols raise
The morning light, The lily white
Declare their Maker's praise

Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit, as we live our lives upon this our temporary home may we be aware of resentful feeling without and cry out to you in praise and song.  May we submit to Your authority over all our being and may we rejoice in Your love, mercy and grace.  May we always remember that You Abba Father have been, and always will, be in total control over this Your universe, and us your Creation.
                                                                                                                                   Amen
Today's Biblical Truth: "Love for and obedience to God will be a natural result of placing ones faith in the Lord."

Have a God Filled and Spirit Led Day.  Go in Peace and serve the Lord our God with Gladness. Love God More Today. Pray for our Brothers and Sisters in Christ who are being persecuted for their faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Also pray for the Nation of Israel.  Always remember that when you have a spiritual dilemma in your life and you yell out, "I CAN'T", God Whispers to you, "BUT I CAN".

"The LORD upholds all who fall, And raises up all who are bowed down." Psalm 145:14

Your Sister in Christ,
Cindi
