Daily Bible Verse for Sunday 27 March 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: Hebrew 4:15,16

"For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weakness, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.  Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of GRACE that we may obtain MERCY and find GRACE to help us in time of need."

Our High Priest, Jesus Christ sympathizes with our weakness.  The word "sympathize" means "to suffer with" and would express the feelings of one who has entered into suffering.  Jesus experienced every degree of temptation as we do, yet He was without sin.  We as humans who give into temptation so easily, cannot even begin to know how strong temptation can be.  Jesus who never gave in, "KNOWS".

We as Christians should boldly and courageously approach God in Prayer, because His is a throne of GRACE, and our High Priest Jesus Christ, sits at His right hand and interceding for us.

MERCY in verse 16 is compassion for a sufferer so great that it moves one to help.  In this verse, MERCY implies failure:  we come to God because our sins have led us away from him and from rest.  The greatness and wonder of this passage is that, Jesus understands our every weakness, and we can come before God and find Him not accusing us, but finding His MERCY and GRACE.

Today's Hymn:  "Your Grace Is Enough"

Great is Your FAITHFULNESS O God, You wrestle with the sinners restless heart
You lead us by the still waters into MERCY, and NOTHING can keep us apart
So remember Your people, remember Your children, Remember Your promise  O God
Your GRACE is enough, Your GRACE is enough, Your GRACE is enough for me
Great is Your LOVE and JUSTICE God of Jacob, You use the weak to lead the strong
You lead us in the song of Your Salvation
And all Your people sing alone, Yeah Your GRACE is enough
Heaven reaches out to us, Your GRACE is enough for me
I'm covered in Your LOVE, Your GRACE is enough for me, it's enough for me

Heaven Father, How thankful we are for Your Son Jesus Christ, who stands before You interceding for us.  Thank You for Your continuing MERCY and GRACE that You shower upon those who believe and trust in You.
                                                                                                           Amen
