Daily Bible Verse for Friday 18 March 2011

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"

Today's Bible Verse: 1 John 4:9-11  "In this, the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has send his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.  In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought to love one another."

The love of God for us was demonstrated with the death of Jesus, upon the cross on our behalf.  Jesus is the the only begotten Son, which expresses not a literal birth, but a sense of uniqueness.  In other words, Jesus is the unique Son of God, and NO other person is God's son, in the way that He is.

Divine love by its nature is unselfish.  It is self-sacrificing.  Jesus, with His death, self-sacrificied Himself for us, to advert the punishment our sins deserved, and now enabled God to shower His blessings on us.

In verse 11, we as Christians are instructed that "we ought to love one another."  It is only fitting, that we as Christians are to be loving, just as God loves us.

Today's Hymn: "Love Lifted Me"

I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore
Very deeply stained within, sinking to raise no more;
But the Master of the sea heard my despairing cry,
From the water lifted me, now safe am I
Love lifted me, Love lifted me
When nothing else could help, Love lifted me

Have a God Filled and Spirit Led Day.  Go in Peace and Serve the Lord with Gladness.  Love God More Today and always remember when you have a spiritual defeat in your day that yells out, "I Can't",  GOD whispers to you, "BUT I CAN".

Yours in Christ,
Cindi
