"Greeting Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"
Today is number nine in the Ten Commandments of God
Today's Bible Verse: Exodus 20:16 "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."
The ninth commandment prohibited bearing false witness. First the command protected the reputation of people from libel from others. Second, this command established the Israelite system of justice on a firm foundation. In Israelite law, the judging of a persons guilt or innocence was based on testimony by faithful witnesses. False witnesses could and would undermine justice.
The command includes, but goes beyond, testimony given in court. False testimony in any malicious statement intended to degrade or harm another. The reputation of others as well as their property is to be guarded by all.
Today's Hymn: "Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing" (verse 2)
Sorrowing I shall be in spirit, Till released from flesh and sin
Yet from what i do inherit, here Thy praises I'll bring
Here I raise my Ebenezer, here by Thy great help I've come
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home.
Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit Help us in our dealings with others to be truthful and honest and not to say things that would harmful or untrue. Help us Holy Spirit to be more Christ like in everything that we say and do.
Amen

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"
Today's Bible Verse" Exodus 20:15 "You shall not steal"
The eighth commandment protected the sanctity of property by prohibiting theft. The command prohibits stealing of any kind. The concern here is not so much the rights of the individual to property, as for the destructive impact on stealing on relationships within the covenant community.
The penalty for theft in the Old Testament is not jail, but restitution by paying back as least twice what was stolen. Payment to the victim is intended to restore harmony by balancing the books, and is not punitive.
Today's Hymn: "Grace Greater than Our Sin" (verse 2)
Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold, threaten the soul with infinite loss
Grace that is greater, yes grace untold, points to the refuge, the mighty Cross
Grace, grace, God's grace, Grace that will will pardon and cleanse within
Grace, grace, God's grace, Grace that is greater than all our sin
Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit As the temptation to take something that doesn't belong to us comes to our minds help us to ponder the question of would my actions be something that would please Jesus and portray Him in me? As Satan seeks to attack the Christian provide for us Lord the strength to resist the devil and he will flee from us.
Amen

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"
Today's Bible Verse: Exodus 20:14 "You shall not commit adultery"
The seventh commandment concerns "adultery". God regards the sanctity of marriage as a sacred trust similar to the sanctity of life. The integrity of relationships is critical in the eyes of God. The faithfulness of a man and woman to each other reflects faithfulness of God to us His people. Scripture sees adultery as a sin against God, a denial of the marriage covenant that binds a couple to the Lord
Today's Hymn: "Glory To His Name"
I am so wondrously saved from sin, Jesus so sweetly abides within
There at the Cross where He took me in, Glory to His Name
Glory to His Name, glory to His Name!
There to my heart was the blood applied
Glory to His Name!
Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit As I awake to another day of life that you have most graciously given to me I say unto Thee as the prophet Isaiah said in Isaiah 6:8 "Here I am Lord sent me." May we as Christians be willing to go wherever the direction of the Holy Spirit leads us. For nothing can compare in following You, for what You did for us upon the Cross of Calvary.
Amen

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"
Today is the sixth of God's Ten Commandments.
Today's Bible Verse: Exodus 20:13 "You shall not murder"
Commandments six through nine were designed to build a cohesive society. Each was based on people (their lives, their relationships, their property, and their reputation. Each of Commandments six through nine were reaffirmed in the New Testament.
Today's Commandment "You shall not murder" did not forbid all taking of life, for the Law itself, included provisions of capital punishment as well as warfare. The deliberate murder of another person flagrantly violated the sanctity of life. The first murder in the Bible occurred in Genesis 4:8-18 when Cain killed Abel. But the most read about and written murder of all times in the New Testament was the murder of Jesus that was based on false charges and an illegal trail.
Today's Hymn: "Glorious Day (Living He Loved Me)"
One day they led Him up Calvary's mountain, one day they nailed Him to die on a tree
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected, bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He
Hands that healed nations, stretched out on a tree, and took the nails for me
Living He loved me, Dying He saved me, Buried He carried my sins far away
Rising, He justified freely forever, One day He's coming
Oh glorious day, Oh glorious day
Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit How we praise You and Thank You for Living and Loving me, for Dying and saving me, for being buried and burying my sins into the depth of the sea and for arising and defeating Satan forevermore and giving us the victory through Jesus.
Amen

Today's Bible Verse: Exdous 20:12: "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord Your God is giving you."
Today is number five in the Ten Commandments of God.
Honor your father and your mother means "to treat with signifiance", "to treat with respect". Care of one's elderly parents was a basic element of social responsibility. Here it is tied directly to how a person would fare in the land. People who were faithless to God in disregarding their parents would not last long in the new promised land.
Parents are God's instruments in a child's life, to meet his or her physical needs, and to introduce the child to God's ways. The spiritual priority of parents is seen in many of Israel's religious ceremonies, such as the passover meal, were conducted within the family.
Deuteronomy 6 and 11 fix responsibility for nuture in the home. It's significant that in the predominantly male Old Testament world "mother" is given and equal status, and even listed first in Leviticus 19:3.
Today's Hymn: "Lord I'm Coming Home"
I've wandered far away from God, Now I'm coming home;
The paths of sin too long I've trot, Lord, I'm Coming home.
Coming home, Coming home, never more to roam
Open wide Thine arms of love, Lord, I'm Coming home
Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit How thankful we are to our parents to whom You have given us. May be respect them, obey them, and love them just as we love You our Heavenly Father. May we take care of our elderly parents just as You take care of us, Your children.
Amen

"
Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"
Today's Bible Verse: Exodus 20:8 "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy."
The fourth of the Ten Commandments, "remember the sabbath day", was the special sign of the covenant with Israel at Mount Sinai. With this command, God set Israel apart from her neighbors. Other people had their own various patterns of work and rest, but Israel was to set aside one day in seven for rest.
The word sabbath means "rest". The day was kept holy by ceasing their labor on that day. During the Sabbath, the Israelites worshiped God and recalled His deliverance of them from slavery. The pattern of six days of work and one of rest was established by God Himself in the Creation, and God's Old Testament people were to honor Him by refraining from work on the seventh day.
Today's Hymn: "Christ Receiveth Sinful Men"
Come, and he will give you rest, Trust him, for His Word is plain
He will take the sinfulest, Christ received sinful men
Sing it o'er and over again Christ received sinfull men
Make the message pure and plain, Christ received the sinful man
Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit Thank you for your word that tells us about the free gift that we have through your son Jesus. Thank You Jesus for receiving us unto Yourself and cleansing us from all our unrighteousness.
Amen

"Greetings Everyone in the Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"
Today is the SECOND of God's TEN COMMANDMENTS.
Exodus 20:4-6 "You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of their fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments."
God is Spirit. So making any image for use in worship would corrupt our our grasp of His nature as YAHWEH. God's "jealously" (verse 5) reflects a passionate concern for us to know and worship Him as He truly is.
The reference to "punishing the children for the sins of their fathers" reminds us that idolatry would bring judgment and would effect the idolater's descendants.
In verse 6 the Lord's mercy would extend even more to the descendants of righteous people. The phrases "third and fourth" with thousands demonstrates that God's mercy is greater than His wrath. The lingering effects of righteousness will last far longer that the lingering effects of wickedness. If we know and worship God in His spiritual nature we protect our descendants from the sins, and punishments that will happen wherever men and women fail to know and love the Lord.
Today's Hymn: "Crown Him With Many Crowns"
Crown Him with many crowns, the Lamb upon His throne
Hark! How the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own;
Awake, my soul, and sing of Him who died for Thee
And hail Him as thy matchless King throughout all eternity.
Heavenly Father, Lord Jesus, Holy Spirit Thank you for being the One True Living and Almighty God. Help us Lord not to worship the things of this world but to keep our eyes focused on You and having a constant Love for You with all our Hearts, Minds and Souls just as Your Love is NEVER ENDING for us.
Amen
